Now here we go for the starting article in TZI Blogging Series.. Before you actually start blogging its significant to know what is a blog or sometimes called as web log. A blog is just like an online dairy that is displayed to everybody online. It’s all about sharing your thoughts and views about something that you are really passionate about.
Blogs are a great resource with which one can share their knowledge to everybody in this world without bothering anything about any geographical borders. This has become a powerful social networking tool now a days. A blog can be created for free on the Internet, however we recommend connecting your blog to new custom domain which would cost nothing more than $10. You can visit http://www.blogger.com or http://www.WordPress.org to create your own free blog.
Now let me just list out how users use a blogs for? People have different Reasons to build and promote a blog. Some use this as a personal dairy taking about their daily routine, their likes and dislikes etc. Celebrity blogs are real good examples for this type of blogs. Some people use this to share their knowledge in different fields, like for instance TechZoomIn blogs about all blogging & money making stuff.
There are lot of categories like sports, video games, Technology, Fun and many more where people choose their category and blog about it. Some people use blogs as a means of a source to document things… For Instance a group of software guys use a blog to document things in every day process of creating software. So a blog is not restricted to some category, in fact you can talk about anything you like.
Types of Blogs:
One cannot judge a blog can be in a textual format as it is associated with a dairy, it can be in any multimedia format like pictures, videos etc. A picture can express 100 words and a video can express 100 pictures and so people got used to develop all the three formats of a blog. Photo blog deals with photos embedded in then and similarly a video blog has videos embedded in them.
It’s always good to start with a textual blog in the beginning and as the life goes on, you will certainly know about many more things in the near future.

There are many people who Blog without even knowing what exactly a Blog is! Most of them think that it is a website! Good that you cleared all the doubts.
That’s true..Many of the people think blog and site are equal..
Can you please tell me the basic difference of website and blog! I mean Blog is a part of website right? If not then what is the definition of a website?
As far as i know:
Blog contains your personal opinions/information…you can write anything in it..everything is subject to your own opinion.
When it comes to website: Lets say a company has website, you can’t write everything you wants..everything there should satisfy the company policies and should get proper approval before published.
Just nothing but personal and public property

I was just checking my Wordweb for the definitions:
*Website: A computer connected to the internet that maintains a series of web pages on the World Wide Web
*Blog: A shared on-line journal where people can post daily entries about their personal experiences and hobbies
Looks like we Do are sharing what we like! And monetizing is additional to this! And if Website means a computer connected to the internet maintaining series of web pages, then I guess this definition has came from the earlier age of internet! Now the confusion is, can we really call Blog a website? Someone is Hosting our blogs and it does have series of webpages (sometime even more than a regular website)… Dont you think that Blog is going to overtake the concept of website! Even people having a small business is making a blog to promote their product online
