TZI Blogging Series:Use Social Bookmarking Sites for Better Success
Now, let me tell you something about social Bookmarking sites, and the Reasons why people use them for more extent. Social sites are often used to generate instant traffic to a blog or websites.
You can expect huge traffic in a single day if you have something really cool to share, however not all the articles are rated high in every social sites, often some submissions are rated down and hence reduces the Reputation of both the article and the person who submitted it.
Note:When I say social sites it means social bookmarking sites.
So how to use social sites effectively:
Social sites can generate both traffic and reputation to your blog. Your feed count can also increases with in a short span if you can produce some high Quality articles. People at social sites generally prefer Latest technology articles, fun stuff, or really interesting information, exploiting any of these 3 categories would generate huge traffic and reputing as I told you earlier.
Some of the best social sites include Digg.com, Reddit.com, Stumbleupon.com . These are the best in the industry for now, there are many more you can use but, I would seriously suggest you to use these 3 for most desirable results. Once you can impress the users with some high quality articles then, you can forget bothering about articles submission at social sites and the rest of the process.
Social sites also have significant impact on the page rank and the alexa rank of your blog. If you can manage to get good positive rating to few of your blog posts, there is always a chance of improving your pagerank and alexa rankings of that individual page which, in return increases the page rank of your home page . Alexa rank can be increased with the increase in traffic, and page rank increases with the increase in reputation of a particular page, social bookmarking is the only way to hit these two birds in a single shot.
So if you can master the art of impressing your readers, I don’t think there is a need to worry about anything else. Try to produce some high quality articles and the world is at your feet.
Hope you found it useful. Anything you want to add? Share with us! Happy Blogging!!

Hey add me as your friend on Digg and Stumble Upon. My username is Asswass. I began using these sites last week so I’m just learning.
Will Do that dude..At the moment am active only at Digg and SU. I’m buying a article submitter soon, which can submit to 130+ sites at a time.
@AssWass – dude you havent been using digg and stumble upon until last week?
I’ve never really succeed with Digg and Reddit and therefore I only use StumbleUpon nowadays. The best thing with SU is that you not only get a lot of traffic when you first submit your site, but you also get a regular stream of traffic for a long time forward.
Yes that’s true i Do get some traffic from SU. I haven’t used Reddit yet..but planning to give it a try.
Right now I use Twittley which I feel is only going to grow in popularity. I think that Digg has grown into a service that is only beneficial for the sites that already have a lot of readers. I’m on StumbleUpon, but I don’t really use it as much as I should. I think I’ll work on that a little more.
Exactly dude, Digg and SU are favoring high end blogs again.
Hey Lax nice information. I really never tried social Bookmarking sites. More tips like making a group or joining the group and all will be much appreciated.
That will try to some time later. It’s taking too much time to submit these article to social sites. So planning to use a automated system which can Do that.
hey LAX I also never tried social Bookmarking sites.NOW i started to use it, it takes some time to learn, this is realy good post
It will so much time to learn the techniques..But you can use it drive some continuous traiffic.
i read this post, but i have one suggestion, you can highlight main words or bold the title of sites!
Yes i Do thought, but i don’t like the way it going to look with some bold and some heading and some normal paragraph words.
Will try do something else soon
Honestly, I became lax on SB sites and only focused on Twitter. I’ve been observing the trend for more than a year and I think there’s been a big decrease in the effect of SB sites to gain traffic and popularity. It’s still a hit of course, but I can think of better ways to promote a blog yet spend no time on SB.
SB getting crowded and sharing the volume of traffic. That’s the reason small bloggers not seeing any result from the effort they put at SB.
I got the same feeling, but long term effort will drive some long term traffic
Don’t avoid Delecious, Digg, Stumbleupon, Twitter etc.
Submit/Subscribe your feeds to Google Reader, Netvbes, Bloglines etc.
Claim your blog on Technorathi.
That’s true dude. I’m on Digg, Stumbleupon & Twitter. But not using Twitter effectively
I am active more on Twitter and Reddit. I had hard luck on Digg and SU. May be I have to try more on this SB sites. But it is really time consuming to be active on all .
True that its a time taking process completely. Am not active on Reddit..is that good source to get traffic?
Absolutely correct.
Social media is the best and top traffic generated tool for us.
Why celebrities are on social sites?
Because they want to get engaged with their fans.
Celebrities on social networks, yes. But we really don’t know who is operating those accounts
Right?
Hey nice! Actually if you use FriendFeed then you will surely notice tremendous legal increase on your feed-count
50% of my subscriber are from there!
Hmm i came to know recently and started using FriendFeed effectively
I think whoever can end up on the front page of Digg a few times can get a lot of visitors. I have found a lot of good websites (that I have bookmarked and still visit almsot daily) because they ended up on the front page of Digg.
Yes i Do visit some sites on front page. But getting it on front page is really a tough task online
social Bookmarking is good way to get more traffics … it’s works for mr
I have been using Bookmarking websites but the traffic generated is minimal, am i missing something
