After going through a brief blogging series its time to learn about, Google Analytics. This is a really cool application developed by Google to track your blogs performance, in fact it is capable of tracking each and every impression on your blog. In this article I will tell you how to use this Google Analytics
The first thing you should Do is to register for a Google Analytics account, you can use your existing Google account as well, then you should submit your blog url and get a tracking code which should be placed in your source code of your blog. All the steps will be described in analytics and there is no need to worry. Once you get your tracking code place that code right above </body> tag to see its full effect. Save the template after finishing it. Analytics takes time to analyze your blog and will show you the tracked results in a day or two.
So what is the use of Google Analytics:
The main purpose of Analytics is tracking, there are lot of tracking involved though. It can fetch you number of visitors visited your blog in a day, number of impressions, source of your visitor, number of visitors to a particular page, graphical preview of your visitors and many more things are displayed in the report generated by Google Analytics.
A new feature is also embedded in analytics that will track the Google Adsense impressions and clicks that are generated from a particular page in a particular day. Wonder what all this service is free of cost, which means you will not have to spend a single cent to get this service.
One of the key features in analytics is that it is capable of fetching the source from which your visitors are coming, this will actually allow you to concentrate on the source which gets you Maximum number of unique visitors. keyword tracking is also one of the awesome feature in analyst, this will show you the keywords for which your blog is ranking high in different search engines. Analytics will also show you number of unique visitors and impression between certain period of time.
Analytics is the so far the best tracking application that i’ve ever seend which can give you complete information about your visitors and the source of your visitors. I like Google Analytics simply because it’s so simple. Within a few minutes you can use your account to add a new site and then simply add a few lines of HTML.
It’s only a shame that we still can’t see the whole referrer but only the domain. I can’t figure out why Google prefer to have it this way.

Google analytic is good but it still doesn’t provide real time traffic report. It really helps us to understand the traffic detail

I have been using Google Analytics for a while now and I like it. I have used a few other scripts in the past and Google Analytics is by far one of the better apps for tracking ones site.
I use GA and WP Stats to track my traffic details.
