TZI Blogging Series:Making Money With Your Blog
The topics I have covered so far should help you develop a great blog. Now its time to learn how to make money with your blog. Most of the bloggers in and around use their blog as primary or secondary source of income, however, there are people who blog as a hobby, with out any intent of making money and I seriously appreciate that. Now, let me talk about earning some cents with your blog.
Making money online is not going to be as easy unless you have a very good blog. Not every blog can generate money, with out good content and traffic. I recommend you to blog for at least 3 months Promoting good content to really turn some good number of visitors to your blog. If you succeed in getting good traffic then you can start the advertising process which will let you make money from internet. If you fail to generate good traffic, then I would seriously recommend you to concentrate on generating traffic before you can start advertising in your blog.
Advertising is the only way you can generate money from your web log, however there are lot of advertising programs available which includes Google Adsense, yahoo publishers and many more… Money will be generated as per the number of clicks or the impressions that are actually generated by your blog. These advertising programs can generate some good money for you, if you have a serious blog with good traffic and good number of Subscribers. The earnings also depends on the niche you select as well.
There are few more I can add to this list, companies like Kontera and infolinks provide you text link ads that are actually embedded inside your content to add some more money to your pocket. These advertising programs generates slightly low income when compared to adsense and publishers but these text link advertisements were much more effective and generate more clicks than any other advertising programs.
Let me add one more… Advertisers not only contact companies to advertise their web sites, most often they contact some good bloggers in the industry and give them an offer to advertise their companies website. The price of the advertisements depends on the popularity and traffic of your blog. Being found by the advertises should be your ultimate goal as you get more money from the advertisers rather than participating in any type of advertising programs.
So, making money online is not a serious issue if you have a awesome blog with good number of subscribers and and great traffic.
Hope you found it useful. Started making from your blog? Share with us! Happy Blogging!!

I have applied for Google Adsense almost 6days back. They haven’t replied it yet. Is it usual?? I am considering to monetize my website as it is 3 months old now.
6 days sounds a bit more than usual. Most of my friends usually get their accounts within 3-5 days. I suggest that you wait for 4-5 more days and then contact Google.
@Stefan
I feel Google is taking more time than usual. I hope they don’t reject it.
@Lax
I saw your post in my email box. How did you put the re-tweet button in email? What changes did you make to feedburner email service?
@ Ricky,
As per Google Adsense TOS, your blog age should be 6 months to get an Adsense a/c. Just check AdSense TOS once.
Retweet button will come along with the plugin from retweet. It automatically adds on blog posts and rss too.
I guess it is for blogger blog. Am I right? I got a reply from them. They rejected it by saying “Domain ownership is not evident”. They asked me to create a web page on my website and put some code.
How one of my friend got Adsense account within a blogging of 4 months?????????
It depends recently got to know from my readers that blog having good traffic and Quality content can get Adsense a/c approved with in 3 months.
Don’t know exactly, but read on the blogs and comments.
Easiest way to get AdSense a/c in days is just open a blogger blog and fill with some posts and apply for AdSense from it. I think you will get a/c with in days, don’t need to wait for months.
And you don’t need to play with domains and codes as Google asked u to Do
Lax
The problem is i am not the owner of domain. It is registered with someone else name. I have to provide them a proof. The good news is they didn’t reject me for the content. It means that the content of my website is as per TOS of google.
Yes, that’s good that they accepted your content. You will provide them the proof na. If that doesn’t work for you, then just try to change the domain ownership, it will take just 2 or 3 days to get updated.
Yes, you will get the answer, usually they replied within 2-3 days.
i think there is something wrong because Google not taking this much of time to approval or reject process, wait for few days iff you not get replay than again apply for it,
@ Anish & Mohan,
There is a rule that domain should be 6 months old to get Adsense a/c right?
As far my experience about 3 months old blog with 70+ good and Quality content can get Adsense approved! I got mine in 3 months only after applying for 4 times.
usually they accept/reject the application within 3-4 days! But I think they say that at max they can take 7 days!
Yes it will take 3 to 4 days max.But even if they reject you will get a mail.
Don’t try Kontera, try Infolinks.
Put the ad codes after getting traffic.
Anis K.S
Thank you for your suggestion. I am planning to use infolinks as well. Signed up for their service yesterday
Good Move , Adsense+Infolinks great combination.
Infolinks you will get access immediately. But i think its annoying user and getting very low earnings for click.
Right? or my assumption is wrong? I never used that type of text ads.
Yes, right my earnings is b/w 1.5 to 2.5 only.
Yaa mine too! It is a good way of wasting visitors bandwidth and increase blog’s annoyance! I prefer to use Adsense+direct ads [if any] only! A paid review after 15 good posts seems ok to me
Adsense and direct ads are enough. I strongly recommend not to try those text linking ads like kontera and infolinks.
Thank you for your suggestion. I am not using any inlink text ads. I don’t want to annoy my readers.
That’s Good decision
yes Google Adsense is favorite of all the blogger,
Infolinks is better than Kontera,
Yes, i heard that Infolinks working better than Kontera.
Not better, 200 % better.
Ohh ok
Thanks for sharing all your exp here.
Adsense has become very strict with its TOS..i am glad i am their member two years back
Yes yes, now its too strict
Became Strict because they are getting too many applications in recent days.So they are trying to avoid the new blog or blogs with less traffic.
All are creating blogs only for Adsense
Bcz Adsense is the best till now
Yes, No one will pay like google.
Adsense is no doubt all time favorite , but I applied for 3 times , may be i will go for 4 time, wish they approve.
Normally they will approve this time, but can’t say if you have less traffic
Let’s hope for the best.
interesting post, carry on work
Thanks for your comments dude…
Absolutely agree that if you don’t have any traffic, it is going to be REALLY HARD to make any money, except maybe a few buck here and there from things like Adsense, etc…
But once you have traffic… there are lots of different ways to make money with your blog. The ways you mentioned are good ways to start making money, as well as Promoting affiliate products in your posts, selling advertising on your site (as long as you have quite a bit of traffic), promoting other products that you develop, etc…
If you are really good a creating Quality content for your niche, it is even possible to create a paid membership area where you charge a monthly fee for access to your premium content.
There are tons of ways for making money with your blog… once you start getting consistent traffic… you just need to use your imagination
Premium content is a great idea…but that works only when you have lots of fan following
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts here Doug.
Traffic is certainly the key as the more traffic your blog gets the greater the potential for making money.
Your Reputation is also important, so you want to make sure that other perceive you as an honest reliable person otherwise you can forget about Promoting affiliates.
In regards to traffic I’ve heard it said that search engine traffic has the most potential for increasing your Adsense earnings so you want to make sure that your SERP’s is pretty good as well.
As you said,Most of the Adsense income comes from Search engine traffic only. Known visitors will not click on your ads
Yup, that’s true. Traffic from SE is important.
Simply because of this I’ve started to show a bit less Google Ads to recurring visitors coming through RSS-readers. It’s a way to get people who has subscribed to stay with me.
Yes, correct.
I am using Infolink in my site for last one month but very little collection of dollers, what should I Do further to increase my income.
I’m pretty sure more traffci will bring more dollars
