Tools for designing WordPress themes
This is a Guest post by Shaun from Buytemplates.net exclusively for TechZoomIn.
One reason for WordPress being such a popular blogging tool is its facility to modify and design its themes. The following article provides basic information on Tools used for word press theme design and where you can download them.
Graphic designing is the most important part of word press theme designing, hence you need to select the right graphic design tools. Today’s web designers have many available tools on the web.
Adobe Photoshop: is a popular image editing software and an industry standard in graphics designing. You can download it at brothersoft.com
Fireworks: is another tool used mostly by web designers to edit bitmap and Vector graphics. You can get it at: soft82.com
Fonts: You can get free fonts at dafont. If you want to spend money on professional fonts you should visit linotype.com, linotype is a font site offering professional fonts for sale. Another website that offers free fonts is girlswhowearglasses.com.
Free photos and stock Images: You can get royalty free stock images for your graphic design needs from websites like:
- sxc.hu
- adigitaldreamer.com
- Stockxpert
- jupiterimages.com
- stockvault.net
- everystockphoto.com
- kavewall.com
- iStockphoto
- flickr Creative Commons
Firefox Web Developer Toolbar is a great tool for live evaluation of your web design.
You can get it at addons.mozilla.org
Validators: You should use validators to check whether your code validates, if you are thinking about distributing it. You can find validators at:
Text editor : You will need text Editors like notepad to write your code. You can download notepad ++ from notepad-plus.sourceforge.net
Testing your design in different browsers: To test your design to make sure it is okay in different browsers and operating systems, you can use web based services such as browsershots.org, a free service that generates screenshots for your website on Windows, Linux, and Mac. BrowserCam is another place for testing your site, but it is a paid service.
Support: If you have any doubts during your WordPress theme designing, you can get it cleared in forums like WordPress Forums
