Tips to Make your Title tag SEO Friendly
When you write an article according to SEO Copywriting to get high results in search engines, you should take care about the title of web page also. Many SEO professionals ignore Importance of web page titles, title tells a lot about your webpage to search engines and readers. Web page title is the text between the opening and closing TITLE Tags that is <title> and </title>. There are many benefits with title tag such as:

- Helps in branding your website or product
- Helps to get high results in search engine ranking page listing
- Make things easier for huge content and multiple contributors
Here are few tips to write title tag for you webpage in a SEO friendly manner:
#1 Length of the Title tag
You should not have more than 60 characters in your title tag and not more than 5-7 words. You should only include important words and phrases in your title tag. Generally search engine truncate the title if it’s very long and the weightage of title is also decreases. Every word in your title must be related to the product or service you are offering in your post.
#2 Each Page Should have a Different Title tag
Many websites have same title tags in their inner pages too, it’s not a good practice. Your title tag must describe about the web page it is associated with. For E.g. if you are providing services on web design or themes then on your service webpage, you should include words like themes, web design and so on in your title tag. On your achievement page you should include words like awards or certificate. Thus there should be relevant keywords and phrases for all the title tags.
#3 Keywords and Phrases
As I stated earlier that your keywords and phrases should be relevant to your webpage contents and it is always better to have it in starting of your title tag. Try not to include your company name in title tag unless your company is well recognized by others. Relevant keywords and phrases help to get good ranks in search engines.
By reading the title tag, your visitors and search engines get the summary about your posts that you would like share with them. Search engines show results of query on the basis of web page titles. When visitor bookmark your webpage, the page shows webpage title on his bookmark list.
So now you know the importance of title in your post, so make sure you don’t miss the above stated points. Hope you found it useful. Want to add something? Share with us! Happy Blogging!!

Me too. I wasn’t aware of that too. Thanks for the info Lax!
Even i was not aware of the Importance of title length.
i think its really logical for search engines to truncate long titles. It saves time and resources if they Do.
Yes, i always keep my title 5 – 10 words. and Title is one important part of SEO.
Very good Rahul, i have checked your blog.
Rahul’s blog not opening.
I think it is down time for few minutes…It happens some times.
Server issue ?.
What is your webhost? Anish might probably be right.
Rhuls blog is fine on my end. Checked it with different browsers and its fine.
Same case here. @Shab, maybe your connection has problems.
So what can you say about Rahul’s blog? Was it nice? With good titles?
I just make title as i feel like.
@Rahul, your blog is pretty decent and simple. Placing more background pictures and banners will make your blog even more attractive.
Yes, you should follow this , i have seen that some people putting a paragraph as Title.
Avoid Duplicate Titles. If you are using google Webmaster tool, you can easily avoid this.
thank you for sharing this TZI link.
Though I already practice these things mentioned here, it’s nice to see these tips again so people don’t forget and also get to brush up on their blogging knowledge.
Me too, still doing experiments, our gurus are giving lot of information’s day by day.
Same here Anish. Sometimes we get confused with too many information coming in. That’s why I don’t hurry things up, I take it one at a time.
Stick to the one and make sure it success..this can avoid you from confusing…
I was talking about different ways to make our blogs SEO friendly and get high SERps. There are lots of information out there and sometimes telling us different things thats why its confusing especially for newbie blogger like me.
I’m also a newbie. I’ve heard about SEO before but not as detailed as this. ZXT is right, we shouldn’t believe everything we see on the net. We are now facing Information Overload problems.
I’m still a beginner in this field. I need a lot of time to brush up my knowledge about blogging.
Don’t worry friend..we all are in learning process..
We all start as a beginner so everyone took the same stating point but has different paths. It’s up to you which path you choose.
All are students.
That is true……. we all learn from each other .
According to some SEO gurus, making titles for your site is not that hard to customize, but if you abuse using it via repeating those words it might end up to spam.
It’s better use as a title tag if you use the main keyword of your website, because title tag is the first element to load in your web page.
Thank you for the information my friend.
Visited your blog. It is informative one
.
Who are those SEO gurus? Some so called SEO gurus are self proclaimed so we really can not say if they are really what they say.
NO doubt..I have been praticing this and it really works..
But wait 2-3 months to compare the results.
Oh. Is that really that long to see the results? I thought it will take only a week or two?
Yeah..it took so long to see the result..don’t expect to get the result in short time
It would be unlikely. You’d have to take account of anomalies aswell. A very short term trend may not necessarily mean long term success as a result of changing titles.
Some times you will get results in 2-3 weeks, but you advised to wait for atleast 1 month.
While your articles is indeed full of helpful info, for me, an SEO-friendly title is not necessarily a good title.
Google and other search engine’s semantics have gone more and more intelligent these days.
Here is a difference between an SEO-friendly title and Good title.
an SEO-friendly title promotes keywords.
while a Good title promotes the content and the article and website as a whole.
@Llevon,
Yeah… you are right my friend. But in some cases, most bloggers promote keywords through the title which the title keyword phrases are also relevant to the whole page content.
Someone must be crazy when he put a title “make money online” while he cover health insurance, right?
Therefore, a title must be an SEO and User friendly.
By the way, thanks for your Comment in my blog. I really appreciate it.
Llevon, these are not mandatory to run a blog or site, but its to get traffic. for establishes blogs of site no need of a well SEO.
Could you explan further about this?
@Llevon
I think you can make an SEO friendly title and a good title for your article at the same time.
I already check my title tag, and my title tag seems too long but i Do not change it yet because still wonder if this long title tag thing is only one of many myth out there.
Some of my titles are too long. Lax knows what he’s talking about, so for me personally, I will take his advice.
Well we can really never know unless we Do an experiement. Say 2 completely new blogs with 2 new articles and one with short title tag and one with long title tag.
Yes, I think you’re right ZXT. Experimentation seems the best thing to Do if you’re not completely satisfied with the theory. It’s great for other things like ad placement etc.
Or like what youv’e said you trust Lax then you can always go for it. I also Do that. If I trust someone and they gave an advice then I will follow it but if I have doubts then if I can I’ll do some experiment.
I have seen Title tags in Google occupying over 60 characters , i.e. about 80 characters. But it is good to limit the alphabets in the title tags to make it appear more closer to the content.

i try to write my title in a way that search engines catches it first than other blogs
So, what are your ways that search engines catches your title first than other blog?
I guess we should Do research for keywords with less competition so that we have a big chance to be on top on SERPS.
I got the same question as Earn Money…how Do you write your title so Search Engine catches it first? And how can you be sure it does that?
it by practice.
Lax, you miss this one ” Don’t use Special Characters in Title ” ?.
Yes true, If title demands, we should follow
Thanks for the response.
So special characters are bad for your title?
Yes..Google spider/robot can’t understand special characters
Yes, Its recommended to Avoid Special Characters.
And one more humble suggession from my part, No Full caps in Title.
search engine bots only sees in your website is ‘text’ for them to categorize and indexed your website…and of course the ‘relevancy’ of the content. Therefore, have a Quality content(rich) for them to hunt you down…
Can you rephrase that? I have difficulty understanding what you just said.
boats are crawling, in the case special characters, it will failed to crawl.
Okay, so if you put special characters then your title won’t crawl by bots. Okay got it now.
Yes, clever to make a good title, its should catch visitors and boats.
Anish, you keep on saying boats…what exactly Do you mean by boats?
searching google about robots.txt , you will get the info.
Oh you mean bots, I thought it was really boats because you keep on writing boats. I don’t have to Google it because I know what Bots and Boats means.
It just that when you say Boats all the time, it doesn’t make any sense. Thanks for clearing it up.
Wow thank you for this tutorial. I am currently using long chain of words in my title. I thought it would be good for SEO. But after reading, i am deciding to change the title according to the tutorial above. Thanks mate
How long is your long chain of words? <- This exact phrase is only 36 characters including spaces. I don't think a 50 character title is normal. And it says here we should limit it to 60. But 60 is already very long so unless you use a paragraph in your title then you won't have a problem.
Nice decision by Arjun. Keep it up.
