Things to Check Before you ask Another Blogger for Links
Links are the currencies of the web.It is hard to get Quality link backs to your posts but getting back links is not impossible if you follow the right procedures. Here are some useful tips to get quality link backs by pitching or asking other bloggers to link to your content
#1. Is your Content Worth linking: Before you ask another blogger for a linkback you should ask yourself one important question : Is my post worth linking ? Will you link the same article had it been published in any other blog ? Does your article provides value ? If the answer to any one of these questions is “NO” then go back and work again in your article and make it worth linking to.Only after you are satisfied with the quality and usefulness of an article , you should think to ping other bloggers about it.
#2. See What the Blogger is Talking About: Before asking another blogger for a link back see the niche in which the blogger is interested. You should See what topics he/she frequently covers in his blog. Only after you are convinced that the blogger is related to your niche you should consider him for a linkback. It is foolish to expect everyone to link to you whether they belong to the same niche or different ones.So if you have a blog on “Computers and technology” it is more evident that tech bloggers will be interested in linking to you rather than blogs on “beauty tips”.
#3. Relevancy is the Key: Once you have selected a Blog for asking a link back start studying it and first of all subscribe to it.Then dig deeper in to the archives and read the articles written by the blogger. If you find anything useful and relevant to something that you have already covered then you have had a chance to ask the blogger for a link back.Bookmark the article in your bookmarks folder as a potential post. In the days to come after you have build a relationship with the blogger (as described below) you can refer to that potential post and ask for a linkback
#4. Build a Relationship first: This is the key step which must be followed at all costs. You need to build a relationship with the blogger in the first place otherwise it is almost certain that you will Fail in the linkback process. To build a relationship with the blogger start commenting on the posts written in his blog and leave thoughtful comments. Email him suggestions about how he might improve his blog and talk to him over IM or twitter (if possible).Once you have the trust factor working and the blogger responding to your ideas it is the right time to ask for a link back.
#5. Give Before you Ask: This idea works wonders. Give , Give , Give. Reward other bloggers if they have written something unique. recognize them. Appreciate them. Write about them. Introduce them to your readers. And whenever you are linking to someone else Do not forget to trackback the post. the blogger will come down looking who linked to him and will find you. Eventually your relationship will get stronger and the link back procedure will get easier of course.
#6. Write a Humble Email, but keep it Brief: Write a humble email telling the blogger that you have seen one of his posts and liked the idea that he has put into it. Now leave your article as a relevant link from your blog and ask him to have a look and link to him if possible. But do not go about describing the article in the email. Keep it brief and simple. If your email is large it might not get read at all and can end up in the trash folder. So keep it brief and to the point.
If everything goes well you can win a quality link with ease.If you don’t get a link back do not get disheartened and never pitch the same blogger a second time. Learn from this experience and see which articles, bloggers are responding to and which they are ignoring. Gradually you will know how ideas work and Be successful in your link Building campaign.

The last one should not be quite as brief. It should contain enough information for the other blogger to figure out whether he or she should give backlinks. Those who send emails saying something like “hey, link exchange?” are never going to work.
Lax said Do not go on describing. Thats means you need to put some info first. Jason you said the same think only in a better and simple way.
Yes true dude.. Keep it simple and brief. Of course you should include some useful info, but don’t make it paragraphs, which will create a feel to read that mail later or delete.
These are some excellent tips for link exchanges, I personally never ask for link exchanges. If I like a site I will link them, if they are nice enough to consider linking back to me than I of course show my appreciation.
That’s really a cool way. But until you propose or market, you’ll not get many links
will consider this points while asking for blogroll xchange
Great, thanks for your comments dude..!
I will have link exchange wih bloggers who add my blog on their blog =)

That is when they ask you. Right? But if you like a blog and want to ask for blogroll?
Good points you have mentioned here Lax. I Do ask for link exchange to the blogger if I find it worthy.
Great you found it useful. Thanks for your comments dude..!
I like Extreme John have never asked anyone to link to my blog. I’ve always figured that if my content was good enough they would link to it and if not they won’t. Not that there is anything wrong with asking, it’s just not my style.
You’re true to some extent. If i found your blog and your content is good, obviously i’ll ask for a link.
But if you found my blog before that and you like the content, nothing wrong in asking me right?
Two way linking can no increase your PR like the way one way linking does. I don’t spend time in finding two way linking partners.
It’s wrong to decide that it will not work. But one way linking or 3 way linking will work better than 2 way
Check out with whome your competitor is linking, make a list, contact them and they will surely add you. In this way you will generate quick relevant links.
This is a great idea even. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here dude..!
