In my last article I have focused on the positive sides of joining a blog network. But as I have already mentioned that it has its negative sides too just to prove that it is not a one-sided thing. Although the positive sides of joining a blog network are many but you must also take into considerations its negative aspects too before signing up.

Following are the cons of joining a blog network, which you must know before signing up with a network;

• Revenue Splitting: In the positive sides we have seen that blog networks increases your blog’s revenue earning, but on the other hand you Do not get the full revenue. Yes, you have to share your earnings with the owners of the network, which is no doubt counted on the negative side.
• Ownership of Content: In many networks the content that is developed by you is owned by the blog network. In that case you only get the earnings earned by your contents during your time of stay with them. This means if you leave the network you do not get any more revenue sharing. So, before signing with a blog network you must verify about the ownership and rights of the content.
• Limited Control: Many bloggers try to stay out of blog networks just because they do not want to lose control of their blog. Joining a blog network often leads to limited control, especially on the blog design, advertising, branding or promotion. While there are some networks who are very much flexible in this matter. So, you must be aware of this before the sign up.
• Risk Level: Joining a blog network in other way means giving your blog into the hands of others. So, you must have a good track of what they are doing with your blog from time to time. Otherwise, it becomes a great risk for you and your blog as well.
• Legal Aspects: Many of the blog networks include certain legal agreements, or other agreements regarding level of posts, content, or information. So, you must go through the legal aspect and the criteria before completing the signing process.

Last but not the least, my personal experience is not to rush for any deal or agreement with any blog network. You must always keep in mind all the aspects and have a closer study before signing up for blog networks.
