Starting a blog on your own?
After reading Things to know before starting a blog you are all set and fit to start a blog on your won!
Ok Good that you decided to start a blog, but what are all required to start a blog. Ha let me explain how to start blogging. There are two ways to start a blog, first requires no investment and the second way requires some amount of money from your pocket.
If you have decided to choose the first way(Ofcourse i Do suggest to take this way as a new blogger)you need to register with google blogger or wordpress to start your blog.Just register, choose a template from the list, customize it and start posting your articles. All these are for free you don’t need to pay a single $ also. And in reverse you can earn from that blog by putting ads(WordPress currently not supporting ads,if you want this facility just go for blogger) from adsense or some other sources.
If you have decided to choose the second way, then you need to buy a domain and Hosting space to host that blog.what is this domain and hosting space? it’s ok am here to explain you what are those and how to buy them.
What is Domain and how much it costs?
In simple a domain name is what you type in browser to open a website.
They can appear as components of Web sites’ Uniform Resource Locators (URL, ‘Web-address’), e.g. www.techzoomin.com, electronic mail (e-mail) addresses after the customary ‘@’ separator from the user’s name, or as any other part of a syntax that describes an access method to a device or service in an IP network.
The following example illustrates the difference between a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) and a domain name:
URL: http://www.techzoomin.com
Domain name: http://www.techzoomin.com
Registered domain name: example.net
Here are some of the domain types:
- gov – Government agencies
- edu – Educational institutions
- org – Organizations (nonprofit)
- mil – Military
- com – commercial business
- net – Network organizations
Coming to cost, it depends on the type of domain you are choosing for example you have decided to take .com domain then it costs 9$ for you. Here are some domain name sellers details where you can select your domain and buy there itself.
-
Godaddy- A good company offering domain names and hosting also
-
siteground-A good company offering domain names and hosting also
-
And many providers are there
What is hosting space?
To store the articles on the web you need some space this what we call as hosting technically.you have to spend some amount to buy this hosting space i.e around 10$/month depending on your hosting provider and the MB of space you are taking.
This is all you need to start a blog !
Congrats! your are all set to start writing articles into your blog and earn money from that.
