Deeplinks are nothing but the hyperlinks you allot in your articles. They may point to an entry in other blog or may be any article in your archives.
How Does a Deeplink Help you?
Deeplinking has a cumulative effect on search engines indexing & getting ranked on SERP( Search Engine Result Pages). It increases your authority in SERPs and also for keywords.
Reasons for Deeplinking:
#For your Readers: Not all your readers are with you from the very start. Its an obvious truth for most of the blogs. So, for those who are new to your blog there has to be ways to find your old contents. There are numerous ways to Do that. But regarding the contest of this post we’ll be talking about deeplinking only. The more relevant deeplinks in your content the more likely that your old contents are getting exposed to your readers. This way you can generate more page views per visitor.
#For Search Engines: The primary aim of every search engine in the market is to bring relevance to search results. Now by deeplinking with proper anchor texts we can help those search engines to do that and end up helping our contents getting fruitfully indexed (and in turn highly ranked in SERPs) in the long run.
Anchor Text & Deeplinks:
Anchors & deeplinks are like twins, if one exists other ought to be. To be straight, an anchor text is the set of words that are used to hyperlink a particular url in order to create a deeplink. But the selection of anchor text is a vital issue in order to get the proper attention from the search engines.
So how to Choose a Proper Anchor text:
We all know that keywords or keyword phrases are the most important criteria to get highly ranked in the SERPs. This anchor texts are also a good way to target keywords. Now let me explain with an example on how to select a proper anchor text.
Let us pretend that you have an old post named “Introduction to SEO Basics”. Now you are planning to create a new post named “On page SEO techniques”. In this new article, if you are trying to deeplink the older post mentioned earlier then what should be the proper anchor text for it ???
If you are practicing keyword targeting, then let us suppose you have targeted the older post with the keyword phrase “SEO Basics”. In that case the most appropriate anchor text for deeplinking the post “Introduction to SEO Basics” will be SEO Basics. This way you can increase your authority for the keyword phrase “SEO Basics”.
And if you are not practicing keyword targeting, then my first suggestion is to start practicing right now. Well for now the most appropriate anchor text in this case would be probably the meta title and if you can’t find what this is simply the post title(Introduction to SEO Basics) will do.
Technically speaking, if you do not shout loud( deeplink ) about your articles the search engines may also not listen( index ) to them too.

What is the plugin Do? Is it make auto link to all your old post with relevant keyword?

Yes i find there is many old article, and i find it because deep-linking on your article.
For example, and the oftenly shown, is for keyword “Do” which linking to article “what to do and what not to do in blogging”.
But about there is people who commenting there, isn’t that just because contest?

But, if we use an automatic tool, we Do not make permanent links.
What Do you mean by automatic tool ?
Plugins or something else to make anchor text automatically. A permanent link always send a ping to the targeted post.
sud try to avoid self Pinging for better SEO..alt/title tags are very imp as part of SEO

Deep linking is one of the things I personally like about SEO. Brings new life into older posts. My favorite WordPress plugins to help me with deep linking has to be “insights” to find older posts to link to and “link demon” if I don’t want to think about deep linking, it does it on autopilot.

Whenever I write a post in my blog, I will try to dig out similar posts from my achive and link to that old posts. Yeah, it does bring new life to my old posts.

Most new bloggers today tried to link other blogs without giving Importance to the word or keywords they refer.
Say like for example. “You can read more info here!” Most of the time they make a hyperlink on the word “here” which is not relevant to the site they refer. And it is also a good practice.
But in the other side, there are some situations we may consider.
Yes that is 100% true. People think thatonly the way to link is “Click Here”. But will realize in the long run

Deep linking can be useful if you want to bring your old posts back to life. As already mentioned it does decrease the bounce rate.
i read on some SEO site using same anchor text for same url are not a good idea.

I don’t think it makes a huge difference. Search engines sometimes don’t like repeated words, but to be honest I wouldn’t worry about it.

Its not about repeating words, its all about linking to a specific keyword. Search engines doesn’t mind about deep linking and repearting

I have read the same article too. All this SEO information is kind of confusing. What if this SEO are just bluffs to get our attention out of the way of what is really important in developing our sites.
I see what you’re saying nathan. The most important thing in my opinion is keep everything focussed. Focus is key when it comes to search engines from what I’ve learned.
