SEO Backlinks–Myths and Tips
The concept of search engine optimization, also known by its abbreviation SEO, is filled with mysterious elements about which many so-called SEO experts disagree. This can be frustrating for any website owner trying to find the most effective way to drive natural, organic search traffic to a site. One often misunderstood area of the overall SEO process is backlinks. How backlinking can impact any SEO program is not always clear. The following article will explores the myths and reveals some useful tips about SEO backlinks.

Since the presence of SEO backlinks is such an important factor in the decision of Google to create page rankings, it is no surprise that so many rumors and false myths would surround the topic. Some of the beliefs that get spread around are partially true while others are downright false. Here’s a breakdown of a few. The first myth is that certain backlinks actually hurt your site. This myth has some validity to it because backlinks from low-ranking sites are not valuable like those from sites that already rank high in Google return lists. However, even low-ranking backlinks are unlikely to hurt you. They simply may not provide the punch you were looking for in your ranking.
Another popular myth is that keyword density is absolutely required to rank for a specific term. While keywords are good to employ, they are not required, so this myth is only partially true as well. Videos and such can rank very high on return lists, and they have no text to speak of other than the title! What you need, then, is the right anchor text and Quality SEO backlinks to get high rankings. If you Do utilize the idea of keywords throughout your website’s text, keep it at a reasonable percentage. The best search engine optimization is achieved at about a one to three percent keyword density. Nonetheless, the most important thing is valuable backlinks with appropriate anchor text pointing to the most relevant pages of your website.
The final largely talked-about myth concerning SEO backlinks is that the page rank of the specific page where your banklink is located matters. This is a completely false myth! If the homepage of a site has a high page rank, then any backlink you have anywhere within that domain will qualify as a high-quality backlink to Google. What seems to matter more to Google is the quality of the anchor text in terms of the context within which your link appears. If you have a sports website and you receive a backlink from a blogger writing about an unrelated topic, the Google algorithm will not look too favorably upon the link. While page rank does matter, the quality of the link and its context is also particularly important. Always remember: Getting backlinks for SEO is important, but focusing on quantity instead of quality could be detrimental to your search engine optimization success.

SEO is big game. I really feels that useless links are useless. No use. I saw few websites which rank on top of search engines with few back links. because of content.
Now, i don’t bother about keywords and its density. It helps a bit. But intelligent search engines will detect you and if you over use it. take your site down by taking its search traffic. And, if you have only one website. then i think you don’t wanna get black listed by search engines. So, it is fairly safe to make good content. which will help you in long term.
Yes,
Learn basics from gurus and apply the same.
I always thought back links from high page rank sites will give you the punch i need. so the answer is it’s not. Aside from that the site must be related to my site. Hmm. This is the first time I’ve learned about it.
Thanks!
Even if the site isn’t related, it will still give you some results but a related backlink will give you the best result.
These past few months, I just don’t focus much on SEO. It lessened the blogging headache. lo. the best part is that it doesn’t seem to have affected my traffic.
SEO is like a gambling game..SEO is too big to conquer…No matter what we Do we still can’t know the real result..My advice is to keep Promoting your blog..
No its not a gambling game, you will get the results, but you should patient to get it.
I’m not saying is the same as gambling but I said is just like gamble…of course I got the result and the result might bad or good…
i am a successful person , i have strong believe in SEO.
i visited your website. I guess you really are successful person.
gambling is like doing something and expecting the result based on luck. I don’t think SEO is gambling because, you have full control about it. It’s just the competition with others is too high thats why the punch you are after is always too soft.
Renino Niefes, yes correct. this is not a gambling.
SEO is not gambling but like school test, we learn it, and implement it (in school case, it’s kind of Do exam), and the result is come.
Result on SEO is rank on SERP, result on school is score.
No it will affect the traffic, work hard you will get the results. please wait for 2-3 months. keep track your traffic and Do necessary changes. if you picking an unpopular subject, you will not get much visitors.
How about using google trends to pick popular subject?
Yes, its a good tip, but don’t go for most wanted items, The good thing is start a general blog and include seasonal items,
For e.g during the Xmas Season, put more content related Xmas, you will get more suitable ads and visitors.
last Xmas in the month December i got 25,000 visitors for an Xmas related cookery topic.
I wish I could also get that much visitors.
Wow thats a lot. How long it took for that article to get 25k visits? 1 month? Can you provide the link for that article?
How did it lessened your blogging headache? Do you mean that your SEO strategy doesn’t affected your blog traffic?
Your effort must be useless since your blog traffic don’t have result.
Liane means that when we concentrate on SEO it lessened the rest of work which we can concentrate how to create a Quality content..if we good in SEO but our sites don’t have anything for the visitors is useless..
Exactly. That’s how I understand liane’s Comment.
Your point are noticeable. All people say different on SEO. But my opinion is that for better SEO we have to make one good keyword densitiy and build better link from high PR site.
Some people say that if you get backlink from PR 6 site then it is better than getting so many backlink from PR 1 site. So I Do not know the truth at all.
yep, it’s true if you have a few high PR backlinks it’s better then having a few hundred PR 0 backlinks.
But according to this article, the high PR backlinks must also be related to your site. The contents of the high pr and your site must be the same. Or else, it becomes useless.
The point means you must find the blogs which has the same niche with your blog..Don’t build link in fashion bleg if your blog is about food..
So all you people means that the link we get by commenting on dofollow blog that is not same niche with us are not valuable?
Actually all link from blog commenting is not too valuable since most article is PR0. But it’s still better than if you commenting on non-related niche with your blog, as your question. It’s SEO basic, more related = more affecting
yep, it’s true if you have a few high PR backlinks it’s better then having a few hundred PR 0 backlinks.
It’s better having high popular links then having hundreds of normal backlinks. It will help rank higher.
Can anyone know that if we Comment on high PR blog that is not same with the niche of my blog, then it will effect on my blog?
Nice read, sometimes backlink hurts, when two weblogs are on the same servers and these two blogs passing backlinks to each other blindly then it hurts the SEO of the blog.
I’ve heard this before, but had no proof that this was true. Can you confirm this, and why is this the case?
There are so many myth blend in SEO field. We should separate it before we use for our blog SEO.
Nice article
. SEO is for long term gains. We should concentrate on Quality of backlinks for our blogs.
Yeah… We should concentrate on Quality backlinks for our blogs. But how we should Do it?
Please share your point of view… Thank you..
We should get backlinks from site which have high PR.
Make the use of, Adobe forum, Digital Point forum, html forum, addons.mozilla etc.
Actually, since our link is not appear in their homepage, all link included on that site is not too usefull.
So, link exchange with same niche blog is the best way
Sometimes you just don’t know which is true and which isn’t unless you tested it yourself.
I for one find keywords to be important in SERPs.
Keywords is very important in SEO. But we must consider its density and quantity of websites who promotes our desired keywords we want to compete and be on the front page of the SERPS.
So we must take action and search which keywords have large amount of search volume with less competition.
can I use Google Adwords Keyword Tool to determine the competition and good keywords? or is there any other tool that we can use that provides better information?
There are many powerful Tools..most of them are paid tools..if you don’t have budget you can try google adwords tool since it belongs to Google and the information provided also awesome..
Just Google for keyword tool and you’ll get tons of free Tools for your keywords.
I hadn’t heard about the specific page where your banklink is located myth, but was aware that the others you mentioned are. Good job on clearing that up for everyone Lax.
SEO is a big topic.
There are many different factors that decide how your site will Do in search engines. Backlinks, keywords, marketing and loads of other things involve seo. Backlinks should be of good Quality.
How about coordinating with other similar blogs for back links. Will that help?
Yes as long as the blog has good PR and traffic. So its best to leave backlinks to high ranking PR blogs.
So it was like its better to get a one backlink from PR5 blog then 5 backlinks to 5 PR1 blogs.
