Post Your Articles at the Right Time to Get Maximum Viewers
After a long research we chalk out some great posts embedded with great Images & yet more interesting information. We also research a lot to give proper headlines & Do exact search engine optimizations & then at some point of time when we are finished we hit the PUBLISH button & pray cross-fingered so that it creates a lot of buzz. But not always it does so.
Because every time there is yet another point of concern that we miss for sure i.e the time of posting. Because the time its posted plays a vital role in getting more eyes on it.
Now you must be thinking why is so ? What possible effect could it have on your post ?? let me explain
Why is so??
- Trust me on this, other than we bloggers, very few people are inclined to check your blog regularly for updates. Even if they do visit your site, they do not necessarily click through older posts for what they have missed.
- If they use a feed reader then most have many backlogs on your blog updates & those are generally overlooked.
So how to choose when its best…
#1. Check your Stats: As every blogging package comes with a post scheduler you do not really need to worry about the post timing. But when is the right time ?? watch out for the analytics that you use. Check when your readership grows. It may be the office hours during the weekdays or may be for the sports sites where the news happens at the weekends. It varies widely based on topic & content of your blog/site.
#2. Reader Time Zone: Well as a blogger I too experience, that there are lots of viewers from lots of countries. Take my example, I have visitors from almost 162 countries of which the first three(US, India & UK) gives 90%(and more) visitors. So that means whenever I need to publish a post I have take into account three time-zones two of which are vastly different. So here is the big problem, whom to focus on. I basically take into account the topic of the content & who(INDIA or US or UK) is more suitable(or targeted) reader.
#3. Buzz Hours: Now this is a big issue which is hard to decide. There are hours when there is high traffic, but there are also Maximum number of new blog posts that comes out too. And on the other side of the coin there are hours where there are less blog traffic but also minimum number of freshly published new content to compete with. Well both the time slots have some goods & bads. So as per my personal experience the busy hours are the best. You can use the other time slot for posting elaborated articles to get maximum attention as those contents needs time to spent on reading & users have more time to focus on your content as they have few new things to read.
#4. Posting Gaps: This is a point we need to take good care of. The more a post sticks on the front page of your blog or stays at the top of your published RSS feed, the more it gets watched/read. Again posting less frequently may Harm your reader base for some Reasons. So you have to adjust some gap that ensures maximum attention to your new pos as well as do not let your readers think that you are irregular.
#5. Commenting Vs Traffic: Its a very common dilemma we may face while posting a new content to our blog. Now like any other blogger you also like your reader comments on your blog posts. So you write a heck of a lot to get noticed & commented in the run. But there is a case, when the most amount of reader comments that you get doesn’t coincide with the time when you get maximum number of visitors. So what to do now ?? Well I can’t help you here. You need to decide what is more precious to you.
So those are the most vital points that according to me, should be taken into account while scheduling a post. And feel free to suggest if you think that there are some other points that need to be taken care of.
Above all I must remind you that there is nothing “general” in this blogging world, so you have to experiment on your own to get the best results.

I usually stick to 3 different time frames to release my blog post and have factored a lot of statistical data into picking the times.
Great, usually US timings will Do best i think…Its proven for me
I did schedule my post according to US time. Before there were 75% of visitors from INDIA now it has come down to 54%.
But anyway you lost that percentage or you got even good % from US?
For me US timings did great job
US timing worked well for me. Now % of users from US has increased to 20%
That’s great, US clicks earn more when you use Adsense as your primary earning spot..!
hey Good post, still i am not sure at what time should i have to publish my post,
As you’re from India. Just try with both India and US timings..Take the stats and decide which best suites for you.
I normally notice that I get a lot of comments when I’m in bed.. so I guess that’s the prime time to publish a good post? (Scheduled, of course)
Yes, i’m doing the same. I schedule my post and it will get posted when am bed
WP rocking with this kind of features and flexibility.
You should post on regular interval. Depends on you which time you prefer. Nice post, this is also very important in blogging.
Great that you found it useful. Thanks for your comments here Rahul.
Its a good idea. I have experimented in past and posting at US/UK time is the best idea. After all they are the buyers and top reader.
That’s true.. Other countries are just growing in terms of internet usage. So obviously we need to target US & Europe visitors
Hi Lax , amazing article, I always confused while publishing any article, and I was thinking of the best time to post articles, I always publish article on a midnight and start marketing it till next one or two hours, US traffic is always best for Indians as their each clicks are valuable for us. That’s why publishing post at night is more suitable.
If we write 3 post a day then we should publish it during minimum interval gap because it should effect feed readers if there is a gap between publishing contents.
Very good points you shared Himanshu.
US & Europe click are very valuable for Adsense or any PPC network ads. Time gaps between post is also very good point, which we should keep in mind.
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts dude….
for me 80 % traffic is from India.
We can expect that, as your content related to India mostly
Good going Dish dude
Keep rocking..!
Well, I didn’t care about the perfect time to publish my blog posts. In fact, the time I post blog entries are inconsistent, sometime in morning, sometime late at night.
So you’re not bothering about publish timings? Howz your results then?
You can give it a try for some time, so that you may get to know some facts
This is something that I need to really improve… I know that my blog traffic during from Friday evening through Sunday morning is bad but I post some articles on Most Fridays and Sundays.
Haa yes i notice you decreased num of posts per week. Thanks for your comments Ajith..!
I used to publish my post in the morning (US Time), but I’ve never kept track when is the best time to publish a post. How Do you think if I publish my post in the morning at about 8am in US time? Is that a good timing?
Regards,
Lee
Yes that a good timing..Usually i publish at that time only..So that you can expose it to people through out the day.
I usually Do research what country most of my readers came from. You can do this in your analytics account.
After this, I publish my articles most in the morning after waking up at their time. Because bloggers often have a laptop or PC in their room and check their email after they woke up.
If they subscribe to your blog via email, they will notice your email notification that you have made a new update in your blog.
They other thing is that, your email notification won’t go down on the list because you just have the timing on publishing your content.
