Download File website and arcade is fit place to use donation, of course if your content is free.
Well, anyway, we can’t ask for certain and fix amount for donation, it’s seem embarassing .

I ever donate 1x, because i find what i’m looking for in that site.

Hmm placement is important. I think donation button is fit to be placed in the bottom of any widget on the sidebar. Because the concept of donation itself is just additional/bonus.

Same thoughts here but I might give it a try for 3 months, if I get at least $5 a month then thats great if not maybe I should take it out.
