Is your Blog Working Properly?
The name says it all.Is my Blog working is an online tool that can be used to check whether your blog is working properly or not.It checks whether your site is down , Whether your rss feed is available or not, and other Technical details so that you can check all of them in a single click without having to check them manually one by one.
Earlier we have covered how to measure your Site’s uptime using Binarycanary. Using binary canary you check whether your site is available or down and sends you instant email or sms alerts so that you can take action immediately.Alternatively you can also use Down For everyone or just me to check your site’s uptime report.
However if you are interested to look deeper in to your blog and perform checks regarding the technical issues then head over to Is my Blog working. This service provides some useful technical aspects of your blog with a single click.
Useful details to check with Ismyblogworking.com
#1. Checks whether your web server is working fine or not: Firstly the service checks whether your Hosting service is working properly or not. That means whether your blog is available and accessible to your readers or not.It also shows you the IP address where your blog is hosted.
#2. Checks the Status of your RSS feed: After that it starts to check whether the RSS feed present in your blog is available or not.Next it checks whether the feed provided by your blog supports caching (304 response to IF-modified-since).
#3. Checks your robots.txt File: Then it checks whether a robots.txt file is available in the root directory of your blog. If not present then the service alerts you that there is no robots.txt file detected in the root directory. If it detects a robots.txt file in the root directory then it checks its functioning and shows you the results.
#4. Checks the indexing status of your blog posts: Important one. It shows how many of your posts are indexed with google and Bing. So if there is something wrong and your posts are not being indexed by the search engines you can perform a routine check here. Whats convenient about this service is that it shows you the total number of indexed pages in your site and also provides you a link to see the indexed posts.(see example).
Apart from google it also shows you the total number of indexed pages with the recently popular search engine by Microsoft , Bing.
#5. Checks your WordPress Version: The service also checks whether you have upgraded to the Latest version of wordpress or not. If not then a link is provided and you are redirected to the latest version of WordPress page.
Other technical Details to check:
Apart from the above mentioned checks the site also performs useful checks that might be of interest to you. Have a look
This includes : Server hostname,Page generation time download speed, feed transfer feed and much more details. You can also use the browser bookmarklet to perform routine checks about the technical details of your blog right from the bookmarks toolbar.Or alternatively you can also subscribe to the RSS feed generated on the service page and subscribe to that feed in your Feed reader to get instant updates about the technical issues in your blog.

Too bad, my blog is broken. There is something need to be fixed such as my RSS feed is lost.
Can I know what is this 2 problems?
1) Your blog application doesn’t support gzip compression.
2) Your blog doesn’t support client caching (no 304 response to If-modified-since).
Please advice. Also, my blog loading speed is slow, I’m going to switch my current Hosting to Hostgator next month.
Regards,
Lee
gzip compression helps your site to load pretty fast. I think this should be supported by your host provider. Even you don’t need to bother about that now..if you want to use gzip in future, host provider should support it.
I don’t know much about that 2nd question
Try BlueHost Lee, many bloggers including me swear by BlueHost.
great info… liked the website…it gave me correct info…thanks lax
Great that you found it quite useful. thanks dude..!

Good to check..people found some solid problems with their blogs
My blog is always working properly. But there are times when I made editing in my codes, I mispress the publish button rather than the preview button.
But I always Do an immediate action to fix some mistakes.
I would suggest to all bloggers (especially blogger users) to have their own test blog where they test all there editing processes.
Try to make your test blog 100% similar even the post for a review reading.
But make sure that you are the only one who read your test blog or else it can be considered my google as spam blog.
For blogger users you can edit the permission settings in your dashboard.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Blogger. For sure it be helpful to other blogspot users.
