Is Plurk better than Twitter? It is really a tricky question to answer as both have their own way of defending themselves. Before coming to the actual comparison, let us clear our knowledge on what these terms are.

Well, Twitter as you all are familiar with the term is a service that helps family, friends, colleagues, co-workers and every other person to stay connected via any simple question. On the other hand, Plurk is a website that allows you to display any special event of your life. At the same time you can follow the events of the people around you via short messages known as ‘Plurks’. Now, why this Plurk is better than Twitter?
  • The main point is that Twitter does not allow other people to see other replies, which Plurk offers. So, with Plurk you always feel like sitting and chatting with your friends together. Whereas Twitter is like an official meeting with some known people.
  • Plurks allows you to continue your discussion in boxes instead of as individual comments. So you can very easily track people with same views and make new friends, which is not the case with Twitter.
  • If you want to view the older messages in case of Plurk, you don’t have to wait for the older pages to load. You can simply scroll back and view them, which in case of Twitter takes a longer time, as you have to move on to another page.
  • Plurks allows you to format your texts to give a touch of your actual expressions, whereas Twitter only allows plain texts and links.
  • The two tabs – My Plurks and Responded helps you to access all your discussions and the messages you have responded, all grouped together, which you don’t get in Twitter.
  • Plurk allows you to edit and manage your profile by personalizing and adding CSS. Twitter, on the other hand, has no option to edit your profile and only allows you to add an image to the background.
Although, all the above points talk about only of the positive aspects of Plurk and the drawbacks in case of Twitter, but there’s a number of good points in Twitter too, which might outrun Plurk in cases. So, Plurk and Twitter are concepts, which are completely related to your needs. To learn more check out with Twitter and Plurk.
