Personality

#1 You have to be Serious about your Work

If you want to be successful in blogosphere you need to be passionate about your work. You have to work with plans and within timelines. No excuses for leaving your work on other day, and if you are getting bored with your work try to make it more interesting by doing the work in some other way.

There is very thin line between confidence and overconfidence. You should be confident that you will surely get successful with blog. • Ben says:

I think you’re absolutely right. I think that personality is a huge part of why bloggers become successful and why others don’t. If readers can easily relate to the writer, then that connection is likely to lead to a returning reader. Without that connection, in most cases, it will not.

Having said that though, very large blogs with guest posters and numerous writers can become impersonal, however they are still popular.

    • I think another reason why blogs don’t succeed is because, the blogger is too lazy to post informative articles, which also reflects his/her personality. Bottom line, personality is really a big factor on blogging success.

      • Ben says:

Yes, that’s definitely a major reason why blogs don’t succeed, but sometimes, even with good content, the way it comes across to the reader, through your personality can be a put off. On the other hand, good personality can sometimes make up for below-par content.

      • akira07 says:

Ah, really? But in myself case, i’m not lazy to commenting on forum/blog, but why i’m lazy to blogging? And if it’s like that, what is my personality type?

  • Ms. Freeman says:

I definitely believe ones blog should be an extention of ones personality. But blogging should also be a way to express ones alter ego. In other words if one is quiet and shy perhaps one could feel a since of freedom and power masked behind the shield of thier blog. Which sort of goes in line with your #4 Get Extrovert

    :)

    • Hmmm. If someone is talkative at his/her blog, that means there is a high probability that this person is shy in personal?

      • Ben says:

That’s often the case. A lot of blogs start up simply because people want to get their point across, that haven’t been able to in the past. Not in all cases though, of course.

        • ZXT says:

I think that most bloggers are extrovert persons. They blog because they want to reach out more audience, reach out more eyes to read what they written.

          • And most of them become successful in this field? I’m a shy person too and I am sometimes hesitant to post personal information on my blog. I tend to think, who’s interested in me and what’s the point of sharing a part of my life in my blog?

So now, I just post articles about topics not personally related to me.

            • akira07 says:

              Haha you’re same with me.
Because blogging is not requiring us to meet directly each other, but it can be a field to train ourself about “How to make relation and socialize”, so blogging activity can help use to change our personality itself.

  • Rahul says:

I am really thinking of my blog network from now. But first need to learn all basics of maintaining WordPress blogs. Blogging growth will be exponential, if you work consistently and regularly.
How can any one make successful blog in shortest period of time?

    • Anish K.S says:

Learn the basics from techncial blogs, search google you will get the datisl

      Interest, Find, Learn and Apply.

    • hey rahul….never think about the SHORTEST method….committ urself to your blog and success to will be yours

      • Rahul says:

        Hi Tushar,
I will be working for my blog with commitment for sure. I am now making goals for my blogging.

        • Anish K.S says:

Setting goals are important, try this

for example if your traffic now is 100 , set it to 200 in the next month (don’t set too high tasks) .

These are my experiences. Don’t feel bad to ask questions. in my starting time i have asked lot of silly question to seniors, they corrected me with god/simple tips.

Don’t forgot to visit Technical blogs, Prepare a list and keep visiting.

Learning is Important. Once you got the Technic, then you can rocks.

          • My unique visitor now is only averaging to 2 per day. I’m still not serious about blogging because I want my own .com domain. Until now, I’m still using blogger.

I still have a lot of things to learn before I implement these things.

            • ZXT says:

              You can try WordPress.com

Almost the same as Hosting your own Wordpress blog but you can not put any ads on it. But you can familiarize yourself already with Wordpress.

But if I were you, I’ll just wait a little and get my own hosting and domain. Xmas is just around the corner and its perfect time for starting a new blog.

          • ZXT says:

I completely agree with you. I think setting goals is a must on all things we want to achieve. Without it, then its harder for all of us to reach our goals.

            • Ben says:

Yes, absolutely. Leave yourself some scope to exceed those goals as well. Setting goals that are too ambitious, and therefore don’t succeed can be demotivating.

              • akira07 says:

But, that’s not mean ambitious is not needed, right? Because ambitious is still excist.

Victor asih, a motivator, tell me 2 way to make motivation :
                “Heaven approach”
                “Hell approach”

And about hell approach, Think something bad happen if your goal is not reached. It will help you to be motivated again. In this step, use your ambitious as a gas.

            • akira07 says:

Anyway, concentrate on goal is more easy when you make very detailed goal.
For example, the goal is to get New Car. Make it detailed :
              What type?
              What colour?
              What brand?

This technique is required by a lot of motivator. Just try it.

          • akira07 says:

Setting goals should be meet 2 criteria :
            - Measurable (How much, how many, etc…)
            - Realiable (Can achieved on x month, x day,…)

      • Ben says:

Yes, short term growth often doesn’t lead to returning visitors and loyal readers. Yes, it’s great for a period of time, but it’s hard to maintain. Aim for long term success.

        • I have small blogs as of the moment. I agree with you. It’s hard to maintain the discipline in blogging and Promoting your blogs. I wish, I’m passionate enough to Do these things.

          • Ben says:

Promoting your blogS, is even harder, yes. Continuous promotion will (hopefully), lead to a regular and loyal reader base. Normally, promotion for a short period of time won’t Do that, from my experiences. There of course are exceptions.

            • I have merged all my topics from my other blogs into my current blog. This way I can maintain my focus on just one website.

My big problem now is domain name. Most of the .com domain is already taken.

  • In my opinion, blogging can work great with both introvert and extrovert. Introvert person can become extrovert in blogging because they can use alias name. :D

  • Anish K.S says:

I think its related with our Reputation.

    • ZXT says:

Well before you get any Reputation you need to earn it first. Now before you can earn any reputation, you need to start somewhere and having a good personality will make or break your blog.

  • Chethan says:

All the 5 Points which you have mentioned is absolutely great!
This is My First Visit to TechZoomIn, and this served me as welcome post!
i need to work with #3 and #4!

  • Laziness of a blogger is also a hindrance in your blogging success.

Even though you knew the information about how to be successful but you don’t Do it, you still can’t reach your goal.

    • Een Rockstar says:

The main point is to implement what they knew…Don’t just sit back and hope the result was great later…

      • The problem with me is, I always expect instant results. After few days of hard work, I want the results be seen in a week which is not really the proper attitude. I must wait for months before I really see the results.

Thanks to TZI for making me realize about my mistake.

        • Een Rockstar says:

You should set up your goal..an example what you want to achieve in one week..go with small goal then increase your goal time to time.

        • Ben says:

I used to expect instant results, Renino, until they didn’t come. Learning from sites like this and problogger, you realize it takes time, dedication and passion if you’re going to succeed.

  • I think it is not in the personality but on the individual’s behavior.

  • Anish K.S says:

I prefer to visit Technical personalities blogs/websites.

one example : Amit Agarwals labnol. I am a regular visitor of labnol, he is a good guru.

  • Een Rockstar says:

The way to determine the persoanality of the writers is to read his or her article..Each person has their own style on writing and it depends on the personality…

  • ZXT says:

I got no. 4 and no. 5 already, time to work out on 1 to 3. Moving forward now.

  • Blogging Success Completely Depends on the content

    • akira07 says:

Well, in business, there is 4 pilars :
      - Finance
      - Human resource
      - Marketing
      - Production

On blogging business it can be compared like this :
      - Finance – fund power
      - HR – Blogger itself
      - Marketing – Promotion
      - Production – Content

And now, let you answer it first :
If only one pilar is good, in this case is content, will it effective?

  • akira07 says:

For #4, it’s interesting fact about me that i’m extrovert on online world, but introvert on offline. It’s more comfortable for me to make relation with text and no need to direct meet.
