When you start blogging, you suddenly realize that there are other million bloggers out there doing the same thing. Trying to get the same knowledge you are trying to share upfront. So it become very important that people know your blog exists. It is up to the blogger to make his blog popular.
Simply writing good content is not always the recipe for success in blogging. You should also put in some time for generating buzz about your blog. No matter how good content you write, it is futile unless people don’t know about your blog. For the same reason I am writing a post on how to generate buzz about your blog.
Comment on Other Blogs
The first and the easiest way to generate buzz is by commenting on as many blogs as you can. At the same time make sure that there are a few blogs that you regularly comment on – this way a lot of other readers will know you and at the same time you will also be able to present your site to new bloggers. Few blogs also offer a banner for a month to the top commentator which will improve your buzz.
Link Exchange
There are few blogger who are just starting out- if you are able to manage in getting link exchanges you will be able to put your blog in front of more people. At the same time, link exchange also provides its own SEO benefits. Link exchanges are also an effective way to create buzz around your blog.
Guest Post
A guest post includes an author bio and a link back to the author blog. Most readers who like your post will visit your site and if your guest post is good then there will be many people who may become your loyal visitors in the future. At the same time a guest post also allows you to generate buzz about your blog.
Promote your blog on Forums
Start your own threads on forums and commit to interacting with the forum members and making valuable comments and views. Forums are generally hubs with loyal readers – if they like your blog they can help in word-of-mouth publicity and help in spreading the word about your blog.

I think the best way is to actively leave blog comments on different kind of related sites.
Guest posting is also a very good way to attract some readers.
One tip When leaving comments on other sites, remember that Google penalizes links from unrelated categories and sites with no related content. So if you run a technology blog it is better to leave comments on other technology blogs than to leave them on poetry blogs so you don’t hurt the pagerank of the site you are on, plus you get more benefit for your own site.
Also, social media should never be neglected, leverage it effectively.
