How Long Your Post Length Should Be

Writing a good content is not just enough to make a blog run. One of the important points is the length of the topic itself, which many of us ignore. Length of a topic plays an important role, which can further be looked into by the following number of ways

  • Reader’s Attention: A typical reader has a short span of attention, no matter how well documented your article is. So when it comes to span of reading content online, it is better to focus on keeping the article length down to a level that can be completed in short grabs.
  • In Terms Of SEO: It is a common belief among the SEO experts that both, an extremely long as well as an extremely short article does not rank well in terms of Search Engine Optimization. So, my advice is to keep pages under a limitation of 1000 words, which is considered as a reasonable length.
  • Post Quantity: It is a very well known theory that the shorter the posts you write, more posts you can cover and with more number of posts you can generate better results in terms of readers with RSS and Search Engines.
  • Topic: Often the length of a topic depends on its type. For example, if you are writing a Review of say any product, you tend to write a longer post. While with news, your posts are comparatively shorter with link backs to some one else’s post.
  • Topic Coverage: It is a very vital point and one of the major criteria that every blogger should follow. Your posts should be comprehensive enough to cover the matter of the topic, keeping in mind the length. So it is very important to focus the topic coverage within the said length, it is indeed a skilled art.
