Google-O’Reilly Accepting Nominations for Open Source Awards

Are you developing any open source software? Do make sure that you nominate your self to Google-O’Reilly open source awards, where you & your software will be awarded. Here is the how & when process explained…

First of all what’s the aim or these awards?

The Google-O’Reilly Open Source Awards have been presented to individuals for dedication, innovation, leadership and outstanding contribution to open source.

Selection Process?

Winners are selected by a committee, made up of the last time winners and some respectable people who served for the tech industry.

How to Nominate?

The nomination process is open to all, so please send your nominations to osawards@oreilly.com. Nominations should include the name of the recipient, any associated projects or organizations, suggested title for the award (“Best Hacker”, “Best Community Builder”, etc.), and a description of why you are nominating the individual. Google and O’Reilly employees are not eligible for the awards.

When Nomination process closes?

Nominations close on May 22, 2009. The awards will be presented during the kickoff ceremonies for OSCON 2009. You can find full details here on the official page.
