If we talk about the stripe in blogger blogs, it is easily to remove. I also search how to replace the stripe on blogger blog to an ad but no one knows how to do it. I didn't saw anybody who have the interest to do the challenge. MaxBlogPress has a good offer but still for those bloggers who can't afford they still can't get the feature. Actually my link unit below navigation bar is working good! But i am some what tensed on breaking adsense tos as on inner pages the dropdown comes above the adsense ads! I think I will remove the dropdown [As I didn find it that useful] in order to clear up some CSS junks and to follow adsense TOS without any conflict!
