Get a Blogger like Stripe in Wordpress Blog to Show Ads
Remember the annoying overhead stripe above all the blogspot blogs ?? Most bloggers gets rid of it as soon as possible. Whatever if seen otherwise its a great thing to show off your ads there. It gets the Maximum visits & as well as takes up very little space.
Though I still can’t say how to put an ad there if you are using the blogspot domain still now. But if you have already moved to a self-hosted WordPress blog, I can show you how to put a stripe above the blog to show off your ads or important announcements as well.
Lets first see how the blogspot stripe is if anybody is still unaware of it or my words aren’t enough to describe it. Check the following image.

So now that you are sure of what I’m telling here’ lets proceed to the procedures to get it done.
- Basically, this is a plugin that gets our job done. Its called MaxBlogPress Stripe Ad. Download it here.
- Now unzip the File & upload it to your plugin directory. I hope you know how to Do it.
- Now go to the plugin management page & activate the plugin.
- Now go to your dashboard & from the settings tab select MBP Stripe Ad.
- You’ll get a registration page. Fill it up & register. A mail will be sent to the email, just take the necessary action after reading that mail.
- Now you’ll be redirected to the plugin settings page.

Now that we are done with activating the plugin we need to configure it for better performance. Let’s proceed along the sections
Add new “MaxBlogPress Stripe Ad”:
In this section you will be able create new Affiliate links or announcements that you are willing to show. Just enter the details and hit the Add button.
“MaxBlogPress Stripe Ad” Being Rotated:

In this part, you can edit all the previously saved ads or announcements. The attributes are discussed hereafter :
- Title : This is text to be shown as the ads or the announcements.
- Link : This is the URL of the page where the click will lead to.
- Show as plain text : Making this yes will only show the text without the link in the stripe. This is necessary for announcements.
- Open in new window : This will decide whether clicking the aforesaid links will open in a new window or in the same window.
- Status : To start or stop any link depends on this value.
- Weight : Last but most important one. It is useful when multiple texts are to be shown. The weight determines which links gets the higher priviledge over which ones. Lets say we have 2 ads with same weight, then if the pages are viewed 6 times then each one will show up 3 times. But if one ad has weight 2 & the other 1 then, if the pages are viewed 6 times the first ad will show up 4 times & the 2nd ad will show up 2 times. I hope you got it now.
Settings:

The points are self-explanatory but let me spend a few words on it
- Stick on the top of the page : Checking this will make the stripe stick to the top of the page even if the viewer scroll down.
- Hide close button : Not recommended. Checking this will make the stripe not show the “X” to the right, so it can’t be removed. This may annoy your readers.
- Disable MaxBlogPress Stripe Ad : This works same as deactivating the plugin.
Advanced Options:
This option is to to modify the look & feel of the stripe. Make the modifications on your own depending on the template of your blog.
This also lets you when the stripe is shown or how many times it is shown. You need not edit it if you are willing to show it everyday, everytime and to everyone.
Clickbank ID
If are registered with this affiliate marketing enter your ID here else leave it blank.
Top margin of your blog page : If you wanna show the stripe sticking just at the top of your blog keep this field blank. But if you wanna shift the stripe downwards give the pixel value to which it will be shifted.
Well thats it for now you can view more about this plugin here.

I feel many such plugins are there to Do this job..
I don’t think so… Can u pls give us an idea/names for them?
Thanks for your comments dude..!
haha thats cool! Even as a blogger user my first job was to remove that iframe of navigation
… But your idea is really an innovative one! But we can only show Google Adsense link list there I think!
Rarely i have seen anyone showing Adsense ads there. Its a nice place to draw attention so if you have a contest or a giveaway going … you casn place that link there. I am glad you liked the idea Swashata
Adsense is also a great idea…i never thought of that..But having on tech blogs will work better than blogging niche blogs…right?
yaa! Actually my link unit below navigation bar is working good! But i am some what tensed on breaking Adsense tos as on inner pages the dropdown comes above the adsense ads! I think I will remove the dropdown [As I didn find it that useful] in order to clear up some CSS junks and to follow adsense TOS without any conflict!
Btw I think Link list on these spots works great for any blog! Take labnol for example
Yes that’s too..but you’ll some bucks only if the traffic is too high..Because those link units carry low CPC compared to normal ads.
Yaa! Infact Adsense income is really pretty much low compared to income from sponreview or direct advertising

I love this plugin but the downside is to remove the credit link you need to buy the plugin else you will be passing on your useful link juice to other blog from all your website pages. Though spending 40-50$ for this plugin is a great deal and if you use it wisely I’m sure you will end up making more from it..
meanwhile there are free alternatives as well, though they lack lil support..
Harsh .. you are right and i agree with you completely (if needed i am willing to pay the price for this wonderful plugin.)
wow! very helpful post, i will surely try it, keep good work, thanks
Thanks for your comments dude..!

This is an amazing plugin and I had it on my site for a while, but I got annoyed at the credit link as Harsh stated.
I find it some times frustrating that plugin authors want this link there. I would just be happy if people used a plugin of mine.
If you know some coding..you don’t to use the plugin for that spot. you can just use a 3 line code to show a link there (Like buzz for a contest or something like that).
I’ll share you the code in some other post or i’ll update this post.
Would love to know how as I want to get something like that for my site.
The plugin makes the job more easier =)
True…Thanks for the comments dude..!
We use the plugin on our site to market one of our products and it has brought in 3 sales in the last month and it didn’t cost us a dime… which I really like
Wow great that you got good results from that.. Thanks for sharing your experience dude..!
WordPress have many great features with many different plugins. If we talk about the stripe in blogger blogs, it is easily to remove.
I also search how to replace the stripe on blogger blog to an ad but no one knows how to Do it. I didn’t saw anybody who have the interest to do the challenge.
MaxBlogPress has a good offer but still for those bloggers who can’t afford they still can’t get the feature.
So are there any alternative to this plug in that wont show the credit link that will annoy us and our readers?
