First Concentrate on Subject/Title of the Post
Hope you know the Importance of the subject in emails or email marketing. Most attractive the subject-more chances to get your mail opened. The same thing applies to title of the post/article in your blog. Composing good title with limited words is not that easy. It shows your talent in blogging. Here are some tips to get great results…
The title of the post should be attractive and informative enough to get read by the visitor or subscriber. Don’t think that it’s not a big deal, it’s the challenge actually. Title shouldn’t mislead your reader or rather it shouldn’t reveal whole context of the post. You should balance the act between interest/suspense and informative/attractive.
Simple and Sweet: As we discussed title should be simple and informative. The recommended number of characters to use in title/subject is max of 50. Here is the proof
A recent study done by e-mail monitoring company Return Path showed that subject lines with 49 or fewer characters had open rates 12.5 percent higher than those with 50 or more characters. The study also found that click-through rates for subject lines with 49 or fewer characters were 75 percent higher than for those with 50 or more characters. Want to increase your open and click-through rates? Keep your subject line short and sweet.
Be Specific and Positive: People thinks that negative titles give the Maximum click through rate. Yes agree, but it’s for one or two times. Not all the time. You can’t drive in a wrong route all the time without paying fine right? You should pay the fine at some time. It’s always better to go for the positive and informative titles.
SEO & keywords: I said it’s difficult to compose a good title, because you should concentrate on SEO in that limited words. Agree now? Yes, it will really works well only when you added some keywords in the title itself.
Of course, search engines will check for the keywords in post body also. But the main target going to be the post title. So it’s always highly recommended to consider/try inserting some keywords in title itself.
Title first or Body first: Decide the title first and go for the body? Or body first and compose a good title for that? Everyone has their opinions in this. But experience blogging pros say, try to put your thoughts in a post body first. And then try to compose a good & short title to mirror that content.
Which you feel the better? Share your thoughts with us! Hope you found it useful. Happy Blogging!!
