Earn from your Photography Hobby..!
Everyone wants to earn money but what if it comes to you with your hobby. I am going to share a great way to earn with your hobby. Most of us like to have photographs and already have a decent digital camera with us; the money we spend in purchasing a digital camera can actually give us good online income by selling photographs on internet.

There are many stock photography websites like Fotolia, Dreamstime, iStockphoto and many more, but initially we should only concentrate on one stock photography website. There are certain features which you should never overlook while choosing stock a photography website for selling the photos. I have selected Pixmac, because of various Reasons listed below:
#1. Company Profile
When you choose a company for selling your photographs you should be aware about the past performance of the website. Pixmac microstock photobank started in September 2008, in the span of one year they have more than 7 million of stock photo and won award for Innovation Category in 2009 Internet Effectiveness Awards. Pixmac is a growing company and I am proud to be associated with it.
#2. Earn Name and Fame
When you are creative to earn through your photography, why not to share them with your friends? Pixmac helps you to promote your portfolio through Twitter, Facebook or you can participate in Pixmac contest which will help you to attract more buyers and you can earn good Reputation. Pixmac provides up to 50% royalty for you and gives you bonus credits when you participate in any Pixmac contest.
#3. Good Service
Many stock photography website takes a lot of time to upload your photographs and might reject your photographs without giving you any valid reason. I trust pixmac because it has very good service; uploading photographs is very easy and faster than any other stock photography website I have used so far. They always resolve complaints quite quickly; if some of my photographs are rejected they give me satisfactory feedback and tip to improve my photographs.
#4. Buying Made Easy
Almost in all stock photography websites, it is compulsory to signup even for buying a single photograph and you have to know about credits, but Pixmac made buying very easy. I don’t have to waste time in getting myself register at Pixmac if I have to purchase only one picture. I just need to select the picture, click on download, pay for it and I can easily use photograph in my blog without wasting much time.
Overall am very happy with Pixmac and I recommend every one to go and check it once. As our main aim is to earn some way or the other
Hope you found it useful. Happy Blogging!!

Photography again. Huh! you again reminded me that I need to buy a Digital Camera.
Hmm then i feel great
Buy soon and earn
@Agent 001: I would rather say photography is an Art! You can also shoot better pics from your Cell-phone camera, even though they are not professional looking. But you can brush up your skills there.
That’s exactly correct. All that depends on the pic you get..doesn’t matter about the Quality because we Do any thing now with the s/w’s we have
So even it’s picture from my cellphone camera, i can sell it? I’m thinking to learn deeply about this business then
I love to make bug photo’s, hope people interested and buy it
Thaty depends where you going to sell it. Pixmac only accepts minimum size of 3mb. Does your cell phone produce 3mb pics?
Hmm my cellphones is 3.2 MP, dunno the pic is less or more than 3MB.
But it’s no longer a problem, since i can borrow my sister digital camera.
I have to correct it – Pixmac only accepts Images with 3 MPix and more, not 3 MB:) And yes, you can try to upload images from your cell phone, too, but they should have a very high Quality to be accepted.
My bad. I misread it. Yes its 3MP not 3MB.
hey this is good idea to take photos from cellphone,
Ya! I can shoot pics with my phone. Though it is 1.3 meaga px only. I can get good pics in broad daylight only.
I want to take pics at night, evening and morning. For that I will need a Digital Camera.
Until I buy, I will be borrowing from my friends but I cannot ask them always.
Do not under estimate cellphone cameras. There are a lot nowadays that can perform the same as point and shoot digital cameras. Don’t compare these cameras, though, to Digital SLRs. Of course, no point-and-shoot camera can beat DSLRs except if your P-A-S camera’s sensor is as big as DSLR and its lens is as high end as DSLRs.
If you really have talent in photography, you don’t need high end camera to come up with outstanding pictures. A Cellphone camera would be fine if you know how to compose pictures. Anyway, cameras are high tech nowadays and are already comparable to point-and-shoot cameras.
Renz I hate to say this but my old Fuji (5 years old) 1 megapixel digicam produces much better pictures than those 5mp Sony Ericsson phone cameras.
But you are right that you can produce good pictures, but better if you have good digicams or DSLRs.
Is that true? How can 1MP can beat the result from 5MP camera even it’s come from cellhpones?
If you would like, please give me the pics result of that 2 camera.
It’s all about maximizing the potential of your camera and relying on your composition skills. Sometimes, it’s not always the camera that produces good pictures but the photographer himself.
In ZXT’s case, i think it’s the camera’s fault. Maybe the 5MB camera’s software of photo processors are inferior than the camera with 1MB pixels only.
Because it’s in the lense. MP is only the size of the picture being captured but the lens of the camera produces the Quality of the picture.
No money for it now. I have just spend money on my laptop. I will have to wait a month atleat.
If my wife isn’t pregnant, we most probably have an DSLR by the end of this year. Anyway, we will still buy one and take pictures of our soon-to-be-born baby. Love you baby Keven!
Created an account in the ” pixmac “, lax thanks for sharing this type of info.
Great that you loved it. Am glad… Thanks dude..!
Can you give me some rough estimates on how much a picture would cost in pixmac? I have thousands of pictures at home about nature and I really want to sell this in the future.
Thanks for sharing!
Pixmac prices for one image are from $1 (0.1 Mpix size and with an optimal credit pack) to $32 (extended licence for that image). Prices depends on the size (user don’t have to download the original size), licence and how many credits the user bought (or whether he bought the image without credits).
But how are about copyright things? Is it safe to give your photograph result online?
You’ll sell it right? then there won’t be no issues on that
Maybe what he means is, how if the buyer give the picture again to the other? The one who eligable to use that photo’s is the buyer itself, right?
Hmm, it can’t be helped since it’s virtual goods. But i have solution. How about watermark it with your url? So even it’s spreaded to another people, you still can take a benefit because your blog url become famoust also
I don’t think you can put watermark to your pics. You are selling it so you are giving your rights. Yes you may retain a copy and use it and maybe sell it again to other sites but you can not complain what ever they want to Do with the pics you already sold.
They (pixmac) can do whatever they want with that and they can sell it over and over again. The buyer can also do whatever he wants to your pic.
Thanks ZXT for giving such an informative advice. By the way, is it possible at Pixmac to sell the pictures to multiple buyers? I mean, if the picture is sold, can it be sold again to another buyer?
I don’t know about that. I am not sure, I have to check with Pixmac again, I hope Lucie from Pixmac can answer it.
When you sign-up for these type of websites and upload your photos, you mostly give them the copyright.
I advice you to check their TOS. They clearly mention everything there.
Great alert this is dude..Thanks for advising to all visitors here.
What will happen if they has the copyright? Does that mean they own the pictures already?
I am not sure how is it in different agencies but when you upload your Images to Pixmac, you DON’T GIVE us the copyright. You remain the author. You only give us rights to sell the image. The buyer is not allowed to give the image to anyone else, but unfortunately we are not able to guarantee it. Anyway, this is also why the photographers don’t sell their best images via microstock agencies. You usually sell there only those images that you don’t have time or you don’t want to sell directly. And you also have no warranty that your image will be used only for that one purpose when you sell it directly.
You are not allowed to put your watermark on the image. Anyway, there are some companies that offer some invisible watermarks and they are able to track those images online so you can check whether your images are used only after purchasing. But I don’t know how expensive is that, if it is worth it.
hey thanks for remind us about this point, i think we have to take care about this
But sadly i am not into photography
May be i will let my friends know about this..
That could be a great help for your friends, as they may earn something
I don’t think its that easy to make money with pics. One has to be highly creative to earn some descent cents for his/her snap. Using a Good digital camera helps a lot.
Usually if you got hobby of doing it from long time. Then nothing wrong in trying it
Just like my wife. My wife has talent in photography. She started this hobby when digital cameras are still expensive. She started shooting using film cameras and still produce great compositions. Quality-wise, its inferior because our film camera that time is low end. High end film is also expensive that time.
I agree. Aside from being creative and having a talent, you also need good camera to be able to earn in this kind of market.
You also need to have lots of dough to buy different kinds of high end lenses for DSLR if you want to excel in photography. Each type of lens as different applications so you would end up buying a lot for each scenario.
I tried this and realized you have to be a pretty good photographer in order to be accepted by the big photo houses.
They sent me a letter letting me know I could re-apply after working on my skills. No hard feelings at least they replied back.
Great at least you tried on it. No one knows when you get the right chance..But our job is just try on until succeed.
Work on your skills when you find free time. Take some snaps from different angles.
Try new things.
Thanks for sharing this photography website. Hope we can earn some extra income too.
That is what my intention is too
I am already registered on Fotolia and Dreamstime , I am surely going to try to Pixmac
.
Ohh that you got much exp on these…U have to tell us the diff
Well fotolia are quite quick when it comes to approving your Images, while dreamstime take quite a bit of time while approving, but i got my first sale through dreastime, so i believe there marketing is much better than that of fotolia.
So, which is recommended for newbie? I think pixac is too far from me, so it’s better to start registering and learn from the smaller company first. If only i’m already good on that site, i will go run for pixmac
Nice thought smaller at most of times is better, you can give pixmac a try and you have always have the option of fotolia.
I think that Pixmac is better for newbie than any other agency. We are working hard to make Pixmac very easy to use, you don’t have to learn any complicated processes when you upload Images. You will have it in a few minutes
You also don’t have to worry about keywording – we Do it for free for our customers. Give it a try!
Wow you sold your picture online? Congrats! I might try dreamstime.
Hey I got a 1.5 yr old Canon DSLR (400D) and I might try joining some photography forum. But I guess the competition is stiff when selling your photos online.
That is obvious in this wide arena of web.
Yeah competition is quite stiff but you can give it a try, since there are so many sites on the net for photo selling.
i tried to sell some of my photos before but im just using a point and shoot camera using external light, sad to say, they did not accept my pics, dont know why…
got frustrated and stopped this hobby for quite some time and sold my camera, now have a digital camera that works like an SLR… still saving for a SLR though.. I’ll give this another shot!
If you are into Photography then you should try again. Save money and get SLR.
I will also be saving money for a Digital Camera.
What site did you try to sell your photos? And what kind of photos? Nature? Portrait?
Pixmac is the best site i ever experienced. Any kind of photo you can sell there.
How much would a photo cost? I mean, how much is the potential income per photo?
How much would be the potential income per photo in Pixmac?
Okay I’m sold, registering at Pixmac now. Will try to upload some of my pics, hopefully they will accept it. Well…it says minimum size is 3mb, that will narrow down my pictures
Waiting for the update ZXT and also with the payment proof. It’s because when i’m searching for “pixmac payment proof” on google, i find there is no relevant result. So, i’m wonder if pixmac is for real?
Yes, of course Pixmac is for real:) You didn’t find any results because these proofs are visible only after buying an image and logging into our system what google robot can not.
We have two types for invoices: invoice for credit purchase and this proof of purchase of the image. If you want to know more, ask me on lucie@pixmac.com.
What happened sir? Did they gave you valid Reasons for declining your photos?
DSLR are cheap nowadays. You can get a Canon 400D for under $500. Sell your pocket cam Sernan.
I’m not sure if I’m still on topic but I have a quick question about digital camera. Nowadays, point-and-shoot digicam are almost at par with DSLR. Is it a good buy or it’s better to buy DSLR than those digicam with “the power of SLR and convenience of point and shoot cams”?
I don’t think the statement “almost at par” is correct. DSLR and Digicams are not even close even with the newest digicams. Each time Digicams improve, DSLR improves too! Once you started to use a DSLR, you will noticed the big difference between the two.
Maybe your photo’s is too simple? Maybe your photo’s is not meet their requirement? WHo’s know
But if it’s related to technique or idea, i advice you to open Youtube and search for “learn photography” video series.
I never think that I can actually make money by selling my photos. In fact, I used to make money using my digital camera to take some food photos and write about it, then I just make money by placing Adsense and Foodbuzz. I’ve only made a few dollars a month from my food blog. Perhaps I can try this way.
We also have travel blog with lots of photos in it. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough traffic to monetize through Adsense.
Another good reason for me to buy a digital camera
Jimmy
To play safe, please try to submit photos which created by your cellphones. Because buying digital camera is not guaranteed that your photos will accepted.
If your cellphone camera photos accepted, that’s a way to go more high, by buying digicam.
Akira, I don’t think a cell phone would Do. The minimum size is 3MB which means its about 5 megapixels in size minimum and those new 5 mega pixels camera doesn’t produce 3mb size pics.
Size and Quality is the main pre requisite here to be accepted.
Hmm but we can convert our “less than 3MB” photos to a format which make it become more than 3MB. For example, converting jpg into bmp will surely make the size increased.
Very good question Akira. Not sure about that, maybe I need to check again pixmac for that.
Waiting for the answer. And if “converted Images” can be accepted on pixmac. So i will go there and start make a shoot
There is mooncake festival tonight and i make some photo’s from it, hopefully it’s accepted
Again, there is no 3 MB minimum – it is 3 MPix! If you have more than 3 Mpix camera in your cell phone, you can try to upload your Images. If they are high-Quality, they will be approved even when they are from cell phone
Sorry about that wrong information Lucie. I misread what I saw on Pixmac website. Though cell phone cameras even those 5mp ones don’t produce good Quality pictures.
Well everyone has their own meaning of good quality pictures so I guess thats pretty subjective.
This one inspired me more. I really want to be a photographer, I want to practice my skills but I can’t because I have no money to buy for a camera. Too bad. I am trying to save money from my online earnings and hopefully I can buy my own someday. It is always a nice idea to work with your passion.
Jen you can start with point and shoot digital cameras. You can get one for under 7k pesos or $120 bucks.
BTW congrats u r getting a good number Comment on the first day of ur commenting contest…nd comming back to the post…plz i will be happy if u can answer this question “from Hw many time u using Pixmac nd hw much u made by selling pics”
Please don’t post in test speak as it is hard to read. For SMS I’d understand but for Comment posting we shouldn’t write in shortcuts.
This is very informative! Thanks and I really appreciate it. I have lots of pictures taken by me and my wife but we never had a chance to “sell” them online. Because of your post, I now got an idea on where to post them and sell them.
Another source of income! thanks!!!
I dont have any passion for photography but i registered hoping to gain passion for photography
Hmmm. I wonder if that will work that way.
Same here I am not sure how can a registration in pixmac can give you a passion. Usually passion is built into one’s character and further fueled by things around you.
Thanks for sharing this photography website. photography is my hobby and i will try to earn some money from it.
Hmm, I’m not really a person who likes photography, but nice to know that we can earn money with photos.
can u share how to display Adsense between posts ? like adsense is displayed in the side of the post begins
I think you need an ads plug in for that.
Anyway, maybe registering on photos stock site is quite hard for you, especially for people who not understand about photography.
So, is there any solution to sell our photo’s?
There is a solution, friend. You can just sell it on buy-sell trade area on a community forum, especially on online business forum because sometime the member searching for public image right.
You can try to make a package of photo’s and then sell it. For example : “A collection of bug photo’s”.
Maybe you are right Akira but you won’t have a market in a buy and sell community forum unlike at pixmac where there are prospective buyers all the time.
I saw many sites telling me that I could earn money from my photos. But I doubt that it is not true.
So, what this photo stock company Do to those uploaded photos? Are they going to sell them? I guess it is…
Thanks for the reliable information. I should have an account on pixmax.
Get an account and you will know. It’s free.
It’s an online photo storage like flickr but if your photo is really good people can buy it and you can earn from it.
Actually i have same doubtful with you since i can’t find even one payment proof of them.
But if it’s come from Lax word, i think i believe it, he is always Do some small research before writing article. Right, Lax?
Dude i write only if i believe its genuine and useful for your people. I will not something useless even though i get $1000
I really want to be a photographer..I mean undergound photographer..I like to snap…But I couldn’t afford to buy a digital camera yet..I’m sure will make money with my photo one day..Thanks for the information
Digital Cameras are cheap nowadays. You can even buy a Nikon point and shoot cam for just $120, just convert it to your local currency.
So even it’s picture from my cellphone camera, i can sell it? I’m thinking to learn deeply about this business then
I love to make bug photo’s, hope people interested and b
I like to take verity photos, and I want to sell it on internet.
