Does link sharing works in promoting your blog?

September 17th, 2008 by Lax

Partnering is how business grows. The same happens on the web. Web sites that offer similar content or under same niche as your blog can help drive traffic to your site. The value of the two sites can be immediately increased by partnering, offering a link to the other site and, in return, having the site link to yours. For example, bloggers under the same niche linking each other will works good to drive traffic to both the sites.

As with any partnership, understanding what you are getting into is the key to success. Before beginning any partnership, you must investigate the potential partnering site. Check the following check list for deciding factors.

  1. Both the sites should be under same niche
  2. Both should contain similar style of approach
  3. Better to link with other country sites to get more traffic
  4. Does the potential partner site currently link with any sites that are considered competitors?
  5. Are the same standards of design used on the site, and is the similar in style to your own site? Using similar styles tells the readers that both sites have discussed and proactively agreed to work with each other.(This is optional)

If all of the criteria match your needs, then begin by approaching someone at the site you want to partner with.
