Can I Change The Blogger’s Orange And White Logo?

February 1st, 2010 by Moumita

Your blog is just like your own child, you nurture it and groom it according to your wishes and watch it grow bigger with each passing day. Just as you have every right to groom your own child, you can always customize your blog just the way you want. And much obviously you can customize and change the usual orange and white logo in your Blogger blog.

You have every right to create and upload your customized logo in your blog and make it your brand icon. This not only gives a brand to your blog or website but also adds a little touch of professionalism too. But before you create your own icon you must know exactly what a favicon is. Well, in short favicon is a square icon or image of dimension 16 x 16 pixels with an .ico extension. All you need to Do in the next step is create your own favourite icon, upload it to an image host and finally edit your Blogger template just to create a reference to the favicon. And you are done.

But the most important point to note about is that in case if you are using Internet Explorer 6 or older version, your favicon will not get displayed. You have to bookmark your Blogger blog and refresh the browser to get it displayed in this case. Some of the hosts, which support .ico files and are free too includes MerryPic, ImageBoo and HostAnyImage. So, it’s time for you to get out from the orange and white and give a brand icon to your blog.

    Dont mind, but what kind of post is this? To link a favicon we need to add the following code before the closing </head> section of it

    <link href='http://faviconURL/favicon.ico' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon'/>

    and that also after <b:include data=’blog’ name=’all-head-content’/>
    Then only it will work! Duh… No such information! :|

    Please don’t mind, but you have not read the title, I guess. The title and the article is all about “Can I Change…”. If it would have been “How To Change…”, I would have considered your point.Thanks anyways, this is going to be my upcoming topic…
