Article Submission:A Pawn in Link Building Strategies
Every blogger is well aware of the Importance of backlinks. Well this should be done with care because developing them largely within a short span of time could hurt back your website/blog. Let us see how this can be done cautiously without negative effect.
A Mere Introduction for Beginners
To start with these backlinks let me first discuss a few words about it. Backlinks are hyperlinks to your blog/website present in other website/blogs. Every backlink is treated as a vote for your website/blog casted by other members. Though the number of the backlinks has a good impact, still the main priority is the Quality of the backlinks.
The term “quality” here refers directly the quality of the website/blog that is linking you back That means the more the hyperlinking website/blog is important(PR, rank in SERPs) to the search engines the more valuable is its backlink. This is also related to the relevancy of that website/blog to your website/blog.
How to Achieve the Goal ??
Now that we are aware of what it actually is, we must focus on how to Do this effectively. But first let me warn you about the many “Black Hat” SEO tricks that may give some sudden surge in traffic but will destroy your Reputation in the longer run. Article submission is one such technique among many legitimate ways to earn “White” Quality Backlinks. Let us see how it works.
How Article Submission Directories Works ??
This is one of the not-so-old techniques that most of the webmasters adopt these days, in order to gain good quality backlinks for their website/blogs. This is very simple concept that lets you gain relevant backlinks from numerous website/blogs at a go. So how does it work ??
- Write an article related to the niche of your blog. The article should be written taking good care. Deeplinking is a must here. Provide relevant deeplinks and do not put just anything that is possible.
- Submit to any of the most popular article directories like a1articles.com, ezinearticles.com. This article directory selection can be done considering their PR values. You will get numerous such lists over the internet.
- Once they are selected it will be featured in their website/blog. There will be links to your site along with the author info. This is the first step to get one genuine backlink and that also from a high PR site.
- Now the second step is that those article is free to other bloggers/webmasters to publish in their website/blogs. But the condition is that they cannot change the content & provide proper backlink to you. So this way you again enormous backlinks which will be scattered all over.
- The best part is its all free.
How Does it Help ??
So as already understood that those submitted supply good backlinks to your website/blog. It also helps you to promote your brand. This works almost like a guest post with multiplied effect. Leave apart the content duplicacy to those who are using it you need not panic about it. Barring all the odds, this backlinks will also help you drive traffic to your blog if the content is that good.
Well that’s all for now. Now lets focus on trying this method with a bit more hard work to create a buzz in the SERPs. Have you ever done article submission? Share with us! Happy Blogging !!

I have never tried Article Marketing. But I always wanted to.
Anyways is this really a Black Hat Technique. Can you please clarify a little?
As stated on the article, article submission is white technique. So, feel free to use the technique oftenly
Thanks for clearing my doubt. I was little confused when Lax mentioned Black Hat in his post.
I never tried the same
Absolute true.
Backlinks are probably the msot importent factot of how you rank in Google. By having quility and high PR websites ranking sending backlinks to your site wil increase ranking and pagerank.
Article directories are in my opinion great ways to get backlinks. You also get to place free anchor text and links to your website. Not only Do you get free back links, but you can also get tons of traffic if the written article gets popular.
The more back links your website has, the higher it wil rank in search engines
Nice informative post
Hmm! that I got to try Article Marketing. I would love to get more traffic. Backlinks are not much of a concern for me though.
Keywords plays a good part too in getting a high rank in SERPS. PR maybe not because 2 weeks ago I was able to rank 5th in my article about improving your Alexa ranking. Yes 5th and I my PR is zero and I’ve beaten hundreds of others with PR higher than my blog.
What would you Do if they remove the links? I previously read a post on someone’s blog that Google doesn’t have enough man power to punish those who scrap contents from other’s blog since you could only differentiate blogs with the same content manually.
@nathan if they want to remove the links lets they Do it..Don’t bother about it..If you blogging just for SEO sake you have nothing..If you’re serious in article marketing produce a good Quality content..People will love to use your article..
I prefer to became gust post in high rank blog than submit article to article directories. But, I always open to change my mind in future.
Guest post are mostly good for one time traffics. But by Article Marketing you can get continuous traffic if you Do it right.
Personally I prefer guest posts. It’s guaranteed traffic, usually from a site within a similar niche.
Guest posting is really helpful to get a solid backlink plus traffic.
I have done guest posts. Its good for Building Reputation as well.
I agree with you both have pros and cons, i prefer article marketing over guest post.
Yep true article marketing can bring in a hell lot of traffic if your articles are of good Quality. Besides improve backlink to our sites it can be our weapon too in affiliate marketing
I have given it a try once in ezine articles..But it really involves tedious submission process with very strict limitations and rules
i didn’t tried the same, also failed to submit site in dmoz
.
I have tried article marketing. Articles at ezinearticles can get quite a lot of visitors. But in the end the traffic you receive to your website depends on the resource box. No matter how good the article is the resource box can be the spoiler
Jimmy Do you have any tips on how to write a good resource box.
That’s right buddy..I see many spam sites exploiting it..There should be some measures against it..

I’m not use this technique yet but i’m sure that’s effective. And it’s more effective when you place the interesting title on that article submission. And don’t forget about list post strategy.
Anyway, how Do you think about using automatic submitter to do article submission? Isn’t that effective and for real?
No Akira. I stongly recommend not to use auto-submitters. It will lose your post personality as well as probably not being as focussed.
What Do you mean by “post personality”? What i rent is only the submission service but the article is 100% created by me, so i can’t understand what you mean
…
Lax, for Google back links is so important to get good page rank.they are not checking the site popularity, for Google page views and visitors are not so important.(may be they checking).
last year i got the PR 3, but now its fall down to 2, but page views increased.
Now i am not bothering about my PR, but checking the Alexa ranking regularly. (day after day its good for me)
Lax, no reply ?.
PR completely depends on the Quality Do follow links. It doesn’t care the page views..
Yes, it’s not affected by a traffic. PR is all about link. But lax, it’s not about Quality backlink. Because even you get link from PR0 site, but it’s from 10000 PR0 site, your PR is increased also.
Yes I know your right Akira, but if you get from links from 10000 PR 0 sites, your pagerank will increase to PR 1, but if you get 100 backlinks from a PR 4 you’ll get a pagerank of 2 or 3. So in my opinion i think quility of back link does play a big part.
Quality of links is always important. If you want to build your PR, best is to try to get links from similar site only.
Yes, it’s got nothing to Do with pageviews. As Teen Blogger says, it’s all about Quality. Regularly updated content, as well as a decent sitemap and quality linking are all you should be worried about.
Sorry if double post. Not sure if first one worked.
Yes, it’s got nothing to Do with pageviews. As Teen Blogger says, it’s all about Quality. Regularly updated content, as well as a decent sitemap and quality linking are all you should be worried about.
Ah really? I just know about it. How can 10000 link only give us PR1.
Do you have a information of PageRank requirement and link’s needed to get a PR1 rank, PR2 rank, etc…?
Most people Do Article marketing for traffics. It can provide good link juice to you blogs (if you link your blog from article) which result in good Google placement. Do not worry about PR things.
I hadn’t heard of this technique, but from what you’ve said it seems very effective. It may be tedious, but it looks like it’s worth it.
i haven’t try this technique but i think now i have to change my mind towards it.
Hi all,
Some SEO people are saying, Nowadays, Google is not supporting One-Way and Two-Way linking. Its only supporting Three-Way Linking.. Is it ture or not…?
I’m getting Backlinks by one-way linking only. I think doing Three-Way Linking is difficult process.
Those are just lies. They just say such craps. If the link has Quality it will be recognized by Google.
Do not worry.
@Agent 001,
I think You are good in SEO. I have one big doubt about Backlinks.
If trying to find the backlinks of my site via Google. It shows limited no. of results only(links).
In case of Yahoo, in their Site Explorer I’m seeing 700 more back links (InLinks)…
What is the big difference in there…?
Hi, Albert, I’ve noticed that too. It seems as if Google doesn’t count links in comments, but only links within the main site/within posts, whereas Yahoo shows links anywhere.
Google does count links in Comment. Its rare but if you get good links from good site, It is considered.
Oh right. Thanks Agent 001. I didn’t know that. I wonder why they’re reluctant to count Comment links in so many cases.
On one post there can be many comments. For example if there are 20 comments. It means at least 20 links to 20 different websites. The post page may not be having any juice left.
But if a page is doing good in Search Engine. It has lot of juice. The juice also get distributed to Comment links.
Its just a theory. May be a little different. Google never share its secret.
Hi Ben,
If google don’t want to look the Links in Comments, Why we have to put URL field in that commenting form?
It’s all depend on the commenting system, friend
If it’s activate “Do-follow”, your url in Comment will be counted. Just download “no-do follow plug-in” for firefox to check if the blog is activate do/no follow in their comment system
The total no of back links is mostly the combination of links shown by both Yahoo and Google. Yahoo shows all the back links. While Google shows few which they consider good. This does not mean that rest of the back links are useless but Google has its own way of recognizing back links.
Mostly you will see that Google Back links are from good and well know sites.
Do not think much about these stuffs, It does not do any difference.
Three way linking is just a rumour. For make it sure, just ask to google staff by email.
And also, what is three-way linking? I didn’t get it..can you explain it? Do you mean, there is 3 blog which do link exchange each other?
@akira 3way backlink is not a rumour. It does work and you wont get caught by google. It is like blog a is asking blog b to put his link, blog b asks blog c to put his link and blog c asks blog a to put his link. It depends on mutual understanding.
Ricky is right its no rumour. 3 way links give better link juice. It is just difficult to Do, so do not waste much time in it.
Ah so, can we make 3 site account, and then make them related by linking each other (3 ways linking). Is it against google rules?
Anyway, thanks for 3ways-linking explanation
Just as what agent said it’s not true. If the back link is quility Google will see it as a quility link and you’ll have chance to rank higher and get PR. I also try to Do as much as I can with One Link Building
Hi ericka, Backlinks are incoming links to your blog or website. You can get this Backlinks by posting comments in another popular blogs, writing in Articles directories, getting place in another Blogger’s BlogRoll.
If you are commenting in popular blog is same to getting $100 worth full Backlink. Google identify your blog also the popular blog.
yes, i agree with albert commenting is easy on some big blog and also try to communicate with some good PR blog for BlogRoll
You mean, it is better than a guest post on other blog? Wow!
I submit my three articles to ezinearticles but they only approve one of my articles.
I thought it was to have a guest to other blogs than submitting to directories.
I should more of this often… Next time
Submit to a little less known Article Directories. Your article may get accepted.
Do you submit 3 articles all in once? Don’t do it, or ezinearticles may think it’s spam. Maybe that is a reason, why you get only one article accepted.

Hey Lax
Simple question how Guest posting is different from Guest posting? As I can see, we can achieve the same thing by guest posting on different blogs in our niche..what Do you think?
Harsh, You question says diff b/w Guest posting & Guest posting
I didn’t get it exactly..
No matter what color it is, red, black or white..
Article submission is cool !
One simple tip/trick to get a back link.
Check your site in http://www.seositecheckup.com, once in a week. its worked for me.
Thanks Anish. Will try it.
Yes article submission is a nice thing as SE’s get your link along with relevant content to your niche. For me the best article submission site is ezinearticles.com
thanks
I would like to try this but the problem is I am not that good in writing so article writing might not be for me.
Well maybe I can think of something that I excel on, like computer stuff or voip issues.
@ZXT
Commenting is better way. Thats we are doing here….
Comment and attract people. You can write 2 to 3 lines than big articles. All the best…
Even i was also not in writing but i improved quite a lot and still improving you can give it a try
.
Ok. Finally Any one Please clear my doubts…!
–>If I post the Comment in PR 0 blog means, what will happen? Will Google consider that Backlink as worth full…? (Only for Do-Follow PR 0 blogs)
–>I’m commenting in this blog (techzoomin.com). And my name linked to my blog URL. Is it High-Quality Backlink or not? And remember here it is the no-follow link.
hey good questions Albert, even i also want to know about this thing so please some one explain us
The link from PR0 blog commenting is not too usefull but it’s still counted as backlink.
@akira07
thanks for replay but still waiting for some good answer with example.
@akira07
Thanks for your information. But as per @Mostlyblog I’m expecting more tips on this…
I’ve been doing this several times with my other blogs and article submission is the best way for link Building
I haven’t submitted posts in article submitting sites like ezine.
May be i have to try doing it and see the difference.
Can you list down some good article submission sites that everyone should list their blogs or their blog post? Thanks in advance.
Over links in your article upon submitting it in some article directory like ezinearticles might affect the approval of your submission.
As you mentioned here, it is not so easy work for submit article. Most of blogger like me doing alone, we have lack of time for write article for our own blog, So its more time consuming for write article to submit for article site.
I hardly submit article on Ezine as I can not get such time for write article.
snow
Great information. Thanx a lot!
