6 Ways to Improve your Blog When you Don’t have Internet Connection
There may be situations when you are away from Internet and the computer. may be you are on a Holiday or have gone outdoors. You are eager in contributing to your blog but the internet connection may not be available at times. How Do you utilize that time? Can you still be productive without internet and build something useful for your blog ? I guess yes. Here are the things to do and improve your blog when you do not have an Internet connection available.
#1. Find new Post Ideas: One of the necessary things that all bloggers need to do is to come up with unique and interesting post ideas. So when there in no Internet available take a small piece of paper and write down some of the ideas about your future posts. Just write about the title, outline the article and write the main points. When you will have the internet connection you can research more on that topic and write a better article as you have already laid down the ideas in paper.
#2. Write Posts: We all have some experiences to share, don’t we ? So when you do not have internet and can’t “blog” about the things you want to , you can actually get productive. You can actually start writing about the experiences that you have gained over the years. You can write a tip related post or a How to article. None the less you can share some of your experiences and create a really juicy article. This will include some diverse content in your blog and your readers will well appreciate it.
#3. List Out the Mistakes: This is one of the things i do generally in the weekends but you can practice it whenever you feel you are stuck. Take a piece of paper and write down the mistakes you have done. Here are some of the questions to ask
- Am I on the right track ? What’s My blog’s objective ? Am i meeting them ?
- What do my readers want ? What do they Like ? What they hate ?
- What is my Blogging Goal ? Where do I want to reach ?
- What is the Next Step ?
This technique is called mind mapping and you will have a clear idea of where you are headed.
#4. Plan for the Coming Days: Blogging is not only about writing articles and Promoting it but it also requires proper planning and management. You should plan well for the coming weeks or probably months. What do you want to deliver in the days to come ? Where do you want to see your blog in the coming years ? what’s your blogging goal ? How should you prepare for the blogging goals ? these are some of the questions you need to answer from time to time. So when you do not have an internet connection you can concentrate on planning your blog and decide on taking action.
So sit down again with a paper and a pen and write down all your goals. Then divide the goals into primary and secondary and then create a plan for executing them. you will be amazed with the fact that what you are doing now and what you should do to progress your blog . This technique has worked wonders for me and i am sure this will be the case with you too !
#5. Record a Podcast or a Video: When you do not have an internet connection you can devote your entire day on creating a Podcast or shooting a How to video. Just plug in your microphone and record a podcast around a particular topic that you have knowledge on. Make it short and make it interesting. Podcasts can bring immense value in your blog and if in wide number can make you an authority in your niche.
Similarly recording a Screencast is not a rocket science. you need a Free screencasting software to get started. Dig sown in your blog’s archives and select a How to article.Start the screencast and record all the steps as mentioned in your article. After you are done just upload the screencast in popular video sharing sites like Youtube,Google video etc.
#6. Write a Small Free Report: You can create a small ebook or a free report that can be given away as a promotional item.Depending on your niche start writing a Free report on something you have knowledge and expertise on. For example : If you have a tech blog you can write a free report on Browsers,Extensions or Free software. if you have a Blog on Blogging then you can write about Blogging tips, WordPress hacks etc. Just write whatever you know and have expertise on and create the PDF of the report using Microsoft Word. When you are back online write a Blog post and deliver the report for free ! People love Free stuff and these sorts of merchandise helps creating a solid Brand which will give you results sooner or later.

I rarely sit down and write a post with a piece of paper and pencil when there is no internet connection. I used to go outside and have a deep breath, look around and try to get some fresh ideas, and see what I can integrate the invironment into blogging.
But I will try to relax myself, I won’t force myself to get a post idea, I’ll just let it pop out from my mind naturally.
Regards,
Lee

If you want your blog always having fresh content daily or day after day, you should use the time stamp option to schedule your content when it can be publish online.
I mean, before leaving your blogging activities for vacation or some Reasons, try to make a fresh content in advance to be posted according to your desired schedules.
This way, your readers won’t wonder what happen to you why you are not updating your blog.
That’s what i always tell to my readers. I Do keep at least 5 post in draft to schedule when in travel or busy with some other projects
I often ask my friends to tell me about what they want me to write on my blog when I am not connected to internet. I also make it a point to list down all the ideas regarding which I am going to post in future. Also a lot of time is consumed by the crude posts which I write before publishing the final post for my blog.
How Do you do that? With a poll or email or just word of mouth? Polls are great for finding out what readers want to read, without looking unprofessional.
Do you mean online poll? But the topic is “when you don’t have internet connection”.
But i’m agree about poll effectivity. Because reader is a king, so we need to hear what reader want. That’s all to get their become loyal.
Those are excellent ideas. I usually find myself not knowing what to write and these ideas might change those or at least have something to pull out on rainy days.
Great post! I guess when you don’t have internet connection you also can’t get distracted when trying to write a blog post.
I know for me, when I started writing, sometimes I get distracted by the urge to sign on to Twitter or follow through with a link on a topic I’m researching.
Haha, that’s exactly what happens to me. I’m just on twitter, click on a link and one link leads to another. Then I realize I’ve wasted an hour…
Hey Lax! I’m beginning to idolize you. Your tips are great!
Plan for the Coming Days this is a excellent point i completely agree with you on this.
Yeh, it’s sometimes good to get away from the computer. It often helps you to think outside the box and come up with new ideas. I’ll also draft posts by hand and then type them up sometimes. Nobody wants to be stuck behind a computer 24/7.
Actually i’m already Do that, bro
I make a folder which named by my blog name, and then i create subfolder such :
- Unfinished article
- Published article
- Souce (reference for my article)
- Pictures
It’s save my time to update my blog when i’m online for sure
I used to Do that akira, but then when I increased my posts/day it just took up too much time, so I just create and publish them directly on WP.
Haha to be honest when i went on holiday in the summer and had no internet for 3 days, I just sat down in the sun and wrote as many post ideas and even made a little schedule of what to Do with my blog.
I also made some drafts and wrote future posts so that i can always have some posts ready to be published. Very handy when you don’t have the time or don’t feel like writing a post.
Very useful for when you cant access internet or when feeling bored.
Nice Post
I too get bored when there is no connection thx for ur suggestion
Whenever i don’t have internet connection, i usually falls into gaming.I don’t know how much posts i had spoiled by playing with CJ.
I think this post could open my eyes, thanks !
I’ve read many motivanional book, and your time when playing games called as “killer time”. “Killer time” is a time which wasted and actually can be used for increase the productivity. I hope after reading this article, you can chance the “killer time” become “production time”.
